Classic bad switch Richard, time to pull it apart and check the contacts and for loose/hot wires. Take note of colors, etc. Lots of switches out there and even if we don't find a apples for apples match we can make others work. If you find all looks good there then we'll start looking at other possible gremlins.

Would that switch effect the back lights too? Never had light switch off, can you give me instructions? At the time I was adjusting my a/f with my new pro-motion adjustable screw driver, moving my light aroun, do you think I blew a fuse in my relay?

JR, turn key on those little lights are bright, but start scoot and both front and back lights are dim, does the light switch effect both areas? Did spray some WD40 in switch, but did make much difference, what next? Attachments:

If both lights are dim then you either have a bad connection or we got other problems. Since you said you was doing other work we now need to check all the connections around the R/R and stator area. No the headlight switch will have no effect on the rear lights, you didn't mention the tail lights were also dim before. Time to start looking at wires and we'll go from there. JR

If this is set right for testing my battery and seeing if its charging, then the reading with scoot running was 12.45. Attachments:

Revved up around 4k and steady reading is 12.45. I did notice where the connector melted that on the one side isn't totally plug in all the way, what's strange is I'm not having any problems starting my scoot.
