Hello everyone. I've been putting around Fredericksburg, VA on my Roketa 50cc for a few months now and I love it. I wish I had the fortitude to ride it to work (40 miles one way) but something keeps telling me its just not a good idea. Please feel free to tell me why I should.

Welcome! I'm sure other folks have done something like that but with the limited speed, you may be at a disadvantage. For that kind of miles, I'd look to something bigger like a 250. What kind of roads would you travel. I've been to Fredericksburg and unless you're traveling all back roads, you'll need some speed.

Also welcome to the forum and I'll agree with CC 40 miles one way on a 50cc might be tough unless you're in no hurry and can travel back roads and out of heavy traffic.
I would at least start with a 150cc and if you want to do it every day then in this summer heat you're better off with a water cooled 250cc IMO.
Again welcome to the forum.
