To all you learned of Scootalogy - what must I choose?

Well my beloved SYM Citycom found a new home at the beginning of the month. Had a ball for 48 000kms with no issues, Thought the 1990 Mazda MX5 will take the place, but with our glorious riding weather at present I miss two-wheels. This is my choices, what do you think?

1.) Gilera Nexus

she's a red hot mad Italian beauty!!! & a good price

does not tick all the sensible (storage) boxes, but sure tick the emotional boxes.

2.) SYM Maxsym 400i

ticks the all sensible boxes - like the ABS

3.) 2008 Yamaha TMax

Ticks the emotional boxes as far as looks & technical design. Engine feels a bit to smooth for me like a jetski. I may be nut's but I actually like the character of a single pot engine in a scoot. When you "turn the pig's ear in the bend you can actually feel the grunt!!"

Hmm I would think maybe the same here. Internet is my friend these days. As much as I want to support my local guys, I'm not paying their price for a belt when I could get in in for 60% of the price & that included shipping. It's a global village these days. Local guys get my money when I buy the scoot, after that all is fair game.

Good choice. The bike is a favorite in Europe for good reason. Enjoy.

Yip, just back from a 250 mile trip bringing it back. I can see why they are that popular. Good torque for easy cruising and I got 48mpg (US) which I'm happy with seeing as I had a steady head wind all the way.

Keep us posted on the rides and owner stories. I'm sure it will be tempting you to do long rides before long. My first shaft drive bike had me take it on a 3500 mile ride through Canada in a week.
