Since your going to try it and we are assumeing it is being flooded Also try taking the Air Filter off so it gets more air. Or just crack it open a little where it connects to the Carb so it sucks in more air. Completely off it may be to much air but if it starts or attempts to start then we are in business. Alleyoop

it started right up. Well actually to get a couple tries but it started and it started by battery too. It took 3 turns to shut it 1 and a half open and it started idling kinda high though. I think it's becauseit's on the center stand in the wheels off the ground but I'm not sure how should I adjust it? And thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you I really didn't want to pay a lot of money and walk in the freezing cold to ride the stupid bus. I much rather drive in the freezing freezing freezing cold lol

well it started right up with the battery but now the battery is dead again and only have enough juice from 1 start. And kick starting is not giving me any luck at all but it did start up an idle for about 10 seconds before I turned it off sure wish I would've let it go longer to charge the battery. But I wasn't thinking. Anyways I don't know what to do at this point I'm screwed lol I'm going to hope to my ex girlfriend will come over and give me a jump start in the morning in letting it run will charge the battery. We will see any tips on fine tuning?

hahaha. drinking a cold 1 now lol from outside who needs a refrigerator when it's freezing. Anyways ex girlfriend said no she cannot come jump me in the morning. So I'm hoping I'm going to go to Walmart and get a battery charger in a minute if I can afford it I have about 30 bucks to my name. the kickstarts not doing it. Plus it's getting a little late and I don't wanna piss neighbors of too much. it's looking like I have about an hour tonight and maybe 2 hours in the morning if I wake up at 8am. To get this bad boy going

I would think that if I get it tuned right I would not need to worry about the battery. It would start with a kick start. But until then I don't know lol I'll have to wait

The reason it started and IDLING HIGH is because of the ENRICHER(choke) When Cold it feeds extra fuel and the IDLE will come down in about 3-5 minutes as the ENRICHR shuts off the EXTRA FUEL. So next time let it IDLE and get warm THEN after the IDLE COMES down is WHEN you ADJUST the CARB. Follow this procedure to tune the carb: Take your time 1/4 turn to much in either direction makes a big difference. Alleyoop
ADJUSTING YOUR FUEL RATIO MIXTURE:
YOU WANT THE HIGHEST RPMS OUT OF THE AIR RATIO MIXTURE SCREW:
Start your scoot and Get The Engine Nice and Hot about 5 minutes so that the Enricher IF it has one is no longer Allowing Extra Fuel to come in. Then do the following to fine tune the Fuel Ratio Mixture:
FUEL RATIO SCREW:
FIRST TRY RICHENNG THE FUEL MIXTURE FROM ITS CURRENT SETTING:
RICHEN THE FUEL RATIO MIXTURE:
1. Turn the Fuel Mixture Screw COUNTER CLOCKWISE 1/4 of a turn and wait 10 seconds to let the engine catch up with the new setting. a. If the RPMS go up REPEAT #1 UNTIL the RPMS GO DOWN OR NO CHANGE(then go to b). b. TURN the Fuel Ratio Mixture Screw CLOCKWISE 1/8 and that should be your highest Fuel Ratio Mixture setting—GO TO #3.
******If on the FIRST 1/4 TURN from the STARTING Position IN #1 ABOVE the RPMS GO DOWN OR NO CHANGE , turn the Fuel Ratio Mixture Screw Back the 1/4 turn to the Starting position and wait 10 seconds until the engine catches up -- GO TO #2 ******
LEAN THE FUEL RATIO MIXTURE:
2. Turn the Fuel Mixture Screw CLOCKWISE 1/4 of a turn and wait 10 seconds to let the engine catch up with the new setting. a. If the RPMS go up REPEAT #2 UNTIL the RPMS GO DOWN OR NO CHANGE(then go to b). b. TURN the Fuel Mixture Screw COUNTER CLOCKWISE 1/8 and that should be your highest Fuel Ratio Mixture setting—GO TO #3.
IF YOU GOT TO THIS POINT AND NOT INSTRUCTED TO GO TO #3 THAT MEANS THERE WAS NO CHANGE IN RPMS FROM DOING #1 or #2 ABOVE, IT IS TIME TO CLEAN THE CARB:
YOU NEED TO CLEAN YOUR PILOT JET AND PASSAGE AND AIR PASSAGES AND THEN START FROM #1 AGAIN.
IDLE SPEED SCREW:
The Idle Speed Screw on a Carb that are on most 4Ts you will find on the right side on the THROTTLE CONTROL WHEEL. It is the screw with a SPRING on it.
To Lower the IDLE you turn it COUNTER CLOCKWISE to Raise the IDLE you turn it CLOCKWISE.
3. If after adjusting your Fuel Ratio Mixture your idle is to fast Turn the IDLE SPEED SCREW COUNTER CLOCKWISE. For the 50s-150s they like to idle around 1500-1800rpms, for the 250s+ they like to idle from 1800-2000 rpms, pick the smoothest idle with the rear wheel not spinning ---GO TO #4.
TEST YOUR ADJUSTMENTS:
4. Now give the Throttle a QUICK twist and the RPMS should climb up quickly without hesitation or bogging and come down to where you set your Idle at---GO TO #5.
5. NOW take a ride and try it out, the Fuel Ratio mixture may need a tweak in either direction now that the motor has a load on it.
The tweak will be minor maybe a ¼ turn richer or leaner IF it acts up with a load---GO TO #6
6. When it acts up BACK OFF the throttle about ¼ of an INCH AND HOLD IT THERE:
a. If the motor speeds up it is LEAN you need to richen it up a little.
b. If the motor settles down and or stumbles and then settles down it is RICH you need to LEAN it out a little.
GO TO #5 AGAIN.
Problems with the IDLE:
1. Give the throttle a quick twist:
A. If the rpms drop below idle speed, then recovers (or stalls), it is RICH —Turn the Fuel Mixture Screw Clockwise ¼ turns at a time and go to #1.
B. If the rpms do not drop quickly to the idle speed but hang and drop slowly it is LEAN —Turn the Fuel Mixture Screw Counter Clockwise ¼ turns at a time and go to #1.

scooter is my only form of transportation. Am on hours don't mention you want to know. So I'm just going to have to man up and find time to bust it to the Walmart to get the charger. I'll let you guys know what happens when I have 1 so I can charge the battery. I don't think I'm going to get her started without it tuning it and relying on the kickstart find the tuning is right is not something that I'm sure will work.

so I figured out that I was using the wrong plug. I guess I had a plug from 1 of the car jobs I did in the past in my toolbox in it just looked right but it's not the same size or drink. So I got a good plugin now the 1 that is supposed to have with the right camp. It starts right up no problem idling is a little rough. i tuned the carb to the best of my ability at the moment. any movement of the air fuel screw kills the engine I found that sweet spot but that's about the best I can do. I'm going to leave 1 hour early for work and take her on the road and see how it works. I'll fill you in

FANTASTIC! Good job man, but I do not like the killing of the motor if the Fuel Ratio Screw is moved just a little. That points to posibley your PILOT JET and PASSAGES may be a little clogged up. You should be able to turn that sucker initially 2-3 turns out and then fine tune from there, and it should take 1 turn in either direction without dying. Is your IDLE maybe to low it should Idle around 1500-1800 rpms wherever it idles the smoothest. Alleyoop
