Well guys I finally did it bought a new computer setup. Bought a new HP Pavillion series, have had good luck with them and HP stands behind their products. Got with the extended package 5 years of warranty and it's the if they can't talk you through it on the phone they'll come to your house and get it. Got a new flat screen monitor too and I've for sure got to do some fine tuning on it, need sunglasses it's so bright! Got lots of downloading to do and putting things like the printer , Microsoft office and my external hard drive on but I'll get there. My old 7 year computer was having issues but I can't complain, it's been a good one, going to still see if I can fix it up and give it to the grandkids. Got a good deal, free shipping and all the warranty for $775 plus tax. All in all very happy. JR

Windows 8 and there are things I like and things I don't versus Windows 7 but like all programs one learns to adjust and use what they have. Some of the 8 things are really cool and in some ways they added unnecessary steps in the processes IMO. I have used Outlook 2007 forever for my email still love it and Outlook 2010 is good too but you almost have to program and save each step on it which I don't understand but they did give you options to do things different, once you tell it how you want certain things done it saves it and you don't have to repeat it. Also Welcome to the forum Teddy! JR

Hey JR,Happy New Year, congrats on that new computer--installing all your files and hardware and software can be a pita but its worth it to get the new system up and going--I wonder if you can use the Mozilla Thunderbird email client on that system? I have been using it for years and find it pretty handy since it will import all your different emails into one place, just click on the Thunderbird icon and get all your email at one place...I have my gmail ,att.net mail, and an old bellsouth mail all together--Thunderbird did all the work rounding up the mail for me...I hope Santa brought all the presents you asked for,and I hope you get that foot healed in time for the first scoot ride in the spring---Santa brought me a new grill so I been out there in the cold grilling out,not bad for 40 degree weather, still too cold for riding tho-lol-somebody gave a jug of apricot brandy to ward off the chill and it has done a good job so far-heh-I got to grill supper later today if this balmy weather holds--cheers,fflintstone

Hey Flintstone that's a good idea, I'll see if 8 will do that.
