2011 DongFang 150STG purchased just over 6 months ago and have put 6k miles on.... well wouldn't you know it .. warranty runs out and i get my first problem ..
Basically i attempted to leave work after dark only to find my scoot didn't have any of the front white lights (still have turn signals and brake)
After getting the scoot home yesterday... i did some trouble shooting, looking at wires and seen nothing wrong .. unplugged/replugged all connections but found that it charging 11.88volts @ 3k rpm (not the 13.65 @ 3k rpm it ussually has) after a long drive home.
Hoping someone can point me in a direction .. voltage regulator/rectifier or magneto or something else ?? Thank you

First of all Welcome to the Forum! Lets do some simple tests on the stator wires to see if the stator is putting out as it should:

he's on line more now , because hes a crip so it wont take days and days

Find the plug coming frome the stator right out of the engine going to the R/R and do the test there.

Stator is good so unless you find a bad wire or connection which is easy to do then my thoughts are you have a bad R/R and need to replace it.
I would give it a good check over for any bad connections or wires first.

omg .. you wont even believe this .. i had pretested the R/R with the battery just hooked up in the hole an everything was great .. til i disconnected the battery to put in the seat bucket (as my battery is under the seat) and when i hooked up the battery, i hooked it up backwards:( .. i feel sooo soooo stupid .. please kick me while im down .. i hate being a dumbass.
Well now i have a whole new problem .. the lights are on but are extremely dim and dim all the way off above idle ...im not getting the same numbers as before with the stator test ..
My question is.. how easy is it to ruin the stator hooking the battery up backwards?
