as i understand the type of converter people use doesnt make that much of a difference BUT the antenna does. now i know WHERE you are is important but can anyone suggest a antenna, that is good for about anywhere. that picks up both UHF and VHF signals
also i need answers quick. thank you very much
my friend John, who is gonna watch the kids doesnt even have a tv at home. But, now, last night i decided that if he can watch tv, here, he might sit here for a couple hours at night. rather than get bored and leave the kids.He sat here for 3 hours and watched TV last night
i asked him about this for the last couple months and he always said 'naw he dont need it'. BUT now i have to jump thru my butt and get the converter box, and a antenna that works really well. and i have what ? 2 days?? hes totally incompetent, when it comes to anything TECHNICAL. so i dont want to leave it to him, hell he might not even be able to connect the box to the TV But i want him to sit here for a couple hours a day a few days a week
so please any suggestions o and i dont want to spend a ton
thanks

Do you have a Radio Shack nearby? Go there, shed some crocodile tears with your story and maybe they can help make it happen. I have no idea what that entails these days dollar wise. I have been on satellite or cable for the last 10 years. I did have an antenna too, but don't remember the cost and I put it up myself. For your situation you will likely need to have outside help. .

If you do go to WalMart take a look at their smaller, 19" digitals, for about $140 and save the $50 buck for the converter box. Then maybe even find a indoor antenna that will work with that set. If not at WalMart, maybe at Radio Shack. You have a tough assignment. Hope you can untangle the questions and answers.
A few years back I had two of those old analog 19" TV's so I went out and bought 2 converters. Shortly after attaching them the analog sets decided to retire about a month apart. So know I have two digital TV's and I gave the converters to my daughter and someone else. Anyway. these new TV's are very light, easy to handle. I could barely handle those older ones but these newer ones are pretty rugged and one travels with me on trips to my home in Colorado. I have Dish on vacation up there so a phone call gets it turned on for my stay.
Best to you.
