I'm trying to remove my variator, so today I went out and bought an electric impact wrench brought it home, and the variator still won't budge.... And information/tips on what I can do to remove this bolt.

That impact wrench should take to nut right off, so you can remove the variator fan, and then take belt off and slide the variator off the shaft, do you have the impact wrench set on counter-clockwise?

Try short burst with the impact wrench, hold for 3 seconds at a time, someone may of put loc-tite on those threads (I always put some WD40 on the nut first)

I know you can use a breaker bar, (but you have to be careful you don't break any of the fins off the v-fan) I use a air impact wrench and have no trouble getting those nuts off, did you soak them with WD40? Do you have a torch? you could heat the nut up and the use the impact wrench.

Yeah I did Its still not wanting to come loose. I have tomorrow off, so I will be spending the whole day trying to figure something out. I will spray it with WD40 when I get home & in the morning right before I take it off and then try some more burst or something.

I agree jct842, I have air impact wrench and never had trouble taking the nut off, I only used the breaker bar once and I damaged my v-fan, never again.

If the nut is on with Loctite or any other compound, heat the nut with a small torch to soften the adhesive. The nut will then turn.
