allyoop has informed me he can post the info on how to make your own exhaust gasket from aluminum tie wire--for the MC54 250B Roketa, and JCL: FFlintstone Well, after we got the Black 250 B running we found the exhaust leaking ,like it wasn't even there--so I found a way to make a homemade one of aluminum wire--chain link wire ties is perfect, about 1/8th in.in diameter and easy to shape into a perfect circle--the original gasket is just too thin, and this works pretty good--I will post some pics ...here is a pic of the home made gasket inside the exhaust outlet, with a little gap for expansion here is a pic of my ingenious shaping, with a jack handle-lol-the wire is easy to shape: I clamped the wire to the jack handle and rolled it on a piece of wood,to shape the circle--worked pretty good, then just clipped it to size ---and I like to pull the belly pan down a little to access the back stud on the exhaust outlet: This is the wire before and after shaping, that's Sponge Bob ,supervising my work ---I kinda got out of sequence with the photos, but you should be able to see the results ...I installed this gasket on my silvery 250 B last month and it is still holding good This is the old gasket, and the new one ---the old one has lost a flange or something ,if it ever had one: Attachments:

Thanks for posting alleyoop, the exhaust gasket is still good on my scoot ,I think it is much better quality than the original...btw,I might advise other folks that have the 250 B engines in that year,2008 and 2007 that I also read somewhere that sometimes the scoots were shipped from the factory with the gasket missing...it is kinda small and probably easily overlooked by quality control--well,ride safe and happy holidays, and Merry Christmas all, fflintstone

JRR got something there...copper wire will handle the exhaust heat some better than aluminum wire ...and I also have been paying attention to JRR's ideas on truck gardening..heh..I need a good recipe for turkey stuffing also...how about your favorite holiday recipes,JRR? I am always looking for good low carb stuffing recipes....btw,I have been using JRR's scooter wrenching expertise long before Scooter Professor ...sure happy when he started Scooter Professor...ride safe, fflintstone
