Hi all I want to know why, when I charge the battery up to say 12.7 v and then remove the charger, does the charge drop to say 12.5 after about an hour of non-charging. Is this correct?

Very common to do so in fact lots of batteries will charge up to 13 to 14 volts and then drop back after a hour or so. !2.5 volts is a good battery.
