I have a keeway matrix 150 and it just snapped a new belt. When it snapped the old belt I ordered a new one and some 12g sliders to replace the old rollers. It has about 8.5k miles on it and I have no idea why it snapped the belt. Any help would be great.

Well if you had 8500 miles on it, that is pretty good. Belts do wear down and in the CVT it creates a lot of heat. The Clutch and or Variator Pulleys could need to be checked out for binding, Especially the Clutch pulley make sure the pulley moves in and out without binding. Alleyoop

I was looking at it closer and it looks like the variator had got some heat on it and caused the belt to melt a bit and then I guess pop. nothing is wrong. The back clutch has some fibers stuck in it that I'm going to have to pull out somehow but I talked to the person who runs the site i ordered the parts off of and he did some checking and turns out I had the wrong size belt on there. It was to small.

What size belt was on there? AND what size did he say it takes?
REASON I ASK is a lot of the people that sell the stuff DO NOT KNOW to much about what they sell.
Also Do you have a SHORT CASE MOTOR or LONG CASE MOTOR? SHORT CASE the CVT COVER has 8 bolts holding it LONG CASE the CVT COVER has 10 bolts holding it.
So count the number of bolts on the CVT. Alleyoop

Welcome to the forum! Also you'll need to clean all those fibers and the faces of the variator and clutch before you put it back together. Make sure they move freely and don't bind. JR

The guy I talked to had me do that its a 8 bolt and he did some checking and found the right one for me. I also plan to clean out all the left over crap out of the housing. Its a mess and its honestly completely ruined my weekend off.
