Terrilee, you are correct. Dogs should never be carried loose in cars and down here I go bombastic when I see one loose or chained in the back
of a pickup truck. I have what is left of our old show dog kennel and have always had a van or station wagon to transport my dogs in. They have
always been securely crated and on soft crate mats. When I was setting my venders booth at shows I carried all sizes of crates both wire and solid. I sold hundreds over the years that I was on the road. If you have a small dog or a cat you can crate them in the back seat and secure the crate with the seat belt.
