Well?? Are you back after your foot thing?? Did it turn out OK? If you're on pain meds, remember to be careful, sometimes natural remedies are best. (Always did wonder where I could use that smiley.)

Now I don't care who you are Cruiser that's just funny! No bigfoot and no square dancing either!

Got the old foot worked on Thursday all went well but got a long way to go yet. Normally it would be a hour operation but due to the size of the spur and the damage to the Achilles tendon it was over 4 hours in the operating room.

My wife in a RN at the very hospital they did the operation at and she told them I didn't do well on anesthesia and they should keep me overnight but they didn't listen. By Friday night the anesthesia had worn off and the pain medication would not even think about dulling the pain. Add the antibiotics and I was sick as a dog! My wife took me to the ER last night and they gave me a big pain shot and something to settle my stomach. I have an extremely high resistance to pain medicine.

Today has been a lot better and I've finally felt like being on one of my favorite places here with you guys and gals. But the Doctor has given strict orders, this foot cannot touch the ground.

You see they had to cut the achilles tendon completely loose and then chissel off the bone spur, and it was as big as a hen egg! So if I put any weight or pressure on this tendon before it's healed back it can easily tear loose, NOT GOOD!!!

Right now it's in a soft cast and in two weeks it goes into a hard cast for another 8 to 10 weeks, then rehab if all goes well. I got a pair of good crutches but Friday before I got so sick I called and had a good adjustable wheel chair with a elevated leg rest delivered. I have to keep the foot elevated for 5 days. This has given me some of my mobility back!

So now it's online Christmas shopping and putting new stuff in the forum cause outside chores are done for now until spring at least!

I can go outside easily because the previous owner of this home did have a long wheel chair ramp going into the back door so that's a big plus.

About the only thing that I haven't quite got figured out right now is tking a shower.

But I'll figure it out!

Just got my sponge bath and at my age the only thing you thnk about on that is getting clean.
