Now here's a dumb question that im sure a few novices { like me} have thought about asking, but did want to appear dumb. Since its been raining for a week, i haven't even gone and started 'Chrissy', let alone run her around the block a few times.
we all know 150's are air cooled, how long can she run, in the tent-garage, w/o starting to damage her?? its between 30--40 degrees.
She will get put her on the trickle charger, but i was just wondering. any answers?

Not a dumb question Terrilee. She can run as long as you like. Cold temps are actually easier on a air cooled engine. Just makes them a little finicky to start sometimes when it's real cold. At 30 or 40F she'll just sit there an purr like a kitten!

I just looked up the Deltron battery tender at Ace Hardware. The price was $52 and had free shipping. Glad I bought one after I got my scooter nearly two years ago. Combined with lousy weather and far too many medical episodes my scoot has only got 80 miles on it. It is getting pretty good at sitting in the garage. It lives tied to the battery tender. When ever I can I go out, unhook the tender, start it up. Instant start, run for maybe 10 minutes then put it back on the charger. A week ago I rode the scoot around the neighborhood to see if I could. Did fine. Now if I can take some time off soon, I will ride it about 4 miles to the DMV area and get my title transferred and new plates for it. But that is another story.
What I am suggesting is to buy or borrow a tender to keep your battery happy while you are not around or the weather is too bad to use your machine. I am pretty happy with mine. Maybe a used on if you advertize you wants somewhere.

thanks guys
bobf-- i do have a trickle charger but i usually ride enough not to have to use it. even last winter, i think i found her battery dead once. and i rode all winter, not alot of snow
its just w/o air being forced into the engine, to keep her cool, i was wondering HOW long she could sit on the center stand , and run, W/O damaging anything.

Terrilee your fan pushes air over the engine and with the temps in the 30 to 40 degree range she'll not heat up or damage the engine. BTW there is no dumb question here. Lack of knowledge, not knowing how, or never done it before is not dumb it just means you haven't done it before.
The SMART thing you did here was to ask so you can take care of Chrissy and we'll do everything we can to help you.

i know i can get tons of help here. i try and find answers before asking a question but i couldnt find a answer in the libraries.
now if i can get all this crap taken care of then i need other transport so i can do some stuff to Chrissy
at 8K miles im sure the belt needs changed and the sliders/rollers could stand at least a good cleaning etc etc etc BUT as the saying goes dont fix it if it aint broke.
BUT THANKS AGAIN
