Alley, Thanks for the detailed info ..I went thru the steps, then Idisassembled every piece of plastic on the scooter (including instrument panel) ..... I cleaned every connection with elect contact cleaner and ... and discovered a loose connection under the instrument panel (green and brown wire) at the wiring harness in back of the headlight assembly ..... I cleaned and reseated the connection , checked for spark and twas sooooooooooooooo glad to see the Bluuuuue Flame, popped the coil wire onto plug, pumped throttle once, hit the start switch = Scooter running and not shutting off after raising RPMS / applying the rear brake bringing to an instant idle and tweaking the fuel / air mix .... shut unit down and restarted several times without any problems. will take for a test run tomorrow. John, I did the test and the stator and pu coil were giving good sigs (thanks for the encouraging "FIXIT FIXIT FIXIT" hehe:)

starts fine ....... idles fine until I bog it down after exceeding 60 MPH ..... 0-60 in 4-5 sec ..... will cruise @ 60 with throttle relaxed .... come to a full stop, dies and does not shut off. When I exceed 65 ish she starts bogging down and eventually dies ..... I restart with no problem runs fine as long as I do not exceed 60 and then it dies at every stop. I can let unit sit for an hour and it will run and idle fine until it bogs down the first time. Flashers, Turn Signals and all lights working crisp and steady. Hmmmmm

So you cannot open the throttle all the way then is that CORRECT? If you do it SPUTTERS OUT RIGHT? Ok let try the OLD TRICK OF THE TRADE and it will tell us what the motor is complainging about.
Bring it up to your 60mph and then slowly give it more THROTTLE WHEN it just starts to ACT UP BACK OFF THE THROTTLE about 1/4 of an inch and HOLD IT THERE. a. If the scoot SPEEDS up it is LEAN and needs more fuel. b. if the scoot Sputters and or hesistates and then SETTLES down it is RICH to much fuel. Alleyoop

Alley and tvnacman, I removed the new Chinese Ignition Coil I had previously installed, re installed my old original Ignition Coil and the scooter is running out perfect ( idle include ).... This is how I came to take this action... I spoke with the person I purchased the ignition coil from and he referred me to another tech that was having the exact same problems as my scooter..... he put new a stator and pu coil, ignition coil, cdi and carb only to have the scooter start crapping out after it warmed up and then the unit would lose spark and not start until the unit cooled down. After testing unit till it lost spark, he changed the ignition coil out ..... fired up and ran fine for 2-3 days .... Back to square one ..... NO SPARK ..... he discarded the Chinese Made Ignition Coils and installed a Japanese Made High Performance Ignition Coil w/warranty (http:// .ebay.com/itm/190763537709?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649) and has had no problem with the scooter since, After researching the Chinese Ignition Coils and finding only 2-3 out of every 12 work as they are supposed too ( and then maybe for only 3-6 mo ), he came to the conclusion that the gel that they are using inside their ignition coils is breaking down under heat .... thus compromising the spark which results in crapping out and not running properly. However, This can get very expensive because most parts houses will not confirm and warranty the reliability of the part they are selling..... thus dumping this crap on the general public. All that said, Thank You so much for your expertise and assistance I am finally glad to be riding again

That is strange because your complaint was only after 60mph, if it was the coil it would happen running at 50 60mph wouldn't matter the coil builds the same juice once the stator is cranking. Now if it was getting hot or anything running at 50 or 60 should produce the same thing. But if that coil works good for you that is great. Thousands are running with your basic chinese coils I am going on 4 years now and not a hiccup. Ride safe Alleyoop

sounds as if you have one of the good ones .... may just be a bad run on this particular coil .....

Should my pickup coil on my 260 Linhai scooter have a spark, using a test light, if testing with it unplug-ed while turning the engine over?

Should my pickup coil on my 260 Linhai scooter have a spark, using a test light, if testing with it unplug-ed while turning the engine over? If it does your test light will probably burn out very quickly. That is a lot of voltage to put on a test light. Ohm readings are very unreliable on testing the coil. You need to go check every connection and the grounds. It could be a bad kill switch causing this? JR

I recently replaced the CDI box , new plug , Carb adjusted, valves adjusted ... ran great for a couple of days. The unit started bogging down and stalling out .... then would run fine after sitting for 30-45 minutes. The unit turns over but there is absolutely no spark. Thanks in advance for your help.
