Glad to be here. I hope to learn a lot about this scooter.
My first question is related to the scooter's headlights. They seem to be very dim and don't light up much of the road ahead. Can these lights be swapped out for brighter lights? I've read elsewhere that they use the BA20D base and the original bulb is a clear 12V 35W/35W. I've seen places advertising Xenon or blue colored lights. Would these be an improvement over the originals? I was also looking for an LED equivalent that would output more light such as a 50W but draw the same power as the 35W so as not to overload the circuits.
Comments?
Thank you

Welcome to the forum! Personally I don't ride at night and haven't changed bulbs but lots here have and to my knowledghe there is not LED type replacement headlight bulb but some you mentioned are a option. Lots of the guys here can tell you good cost effective bulbs to help you see better and I'm sure they'll chime in. Again glad you're here! JR

Also check with your state as many have laws that say LED head lights are a no-no. LEO in a bad mood sees LED's and end results is a fine that you don't need. Turn signals and running lights/brake lights are all good idea's to change to LED to be seen. It never hurts to be brighter. M/C And...Welcome to the school! They learn em reall good hear!!! ;D

Welcome to the forum. My YY250T came with 25 watt bulbs so even a 35 watt bulb would be brighter. Using 25 watt bulbs helps relieve the electrical load on the marginal charging system. Replacing as many bulbs as possible with LED's will be a big help. I have not found a good LED replacement for the headlights. I, like other scoot owners, have replaced with 35 watt HID's which do require some rewiring and mounting of components. The HID's are quite a bit brighter than the originals and just about any other replacement bulb.

I'm sorry but I also own the Reflex copy only it has the linhai engine which doesn't mean anything as far as the bulbs because they are the same. You've got to pull the front body panel completely off. When you get it off you'll see how to remove the bulb/s

MY YY250T is a 2011 Roketa (you don't mention what year yours is). If yours is like mine, getting the headlight bulbs out definitely requires removing the front plastics, because the bulbs are held in by a wire bracket that is in turn held in place by two screws, all completely inaccessible just by reaching up underneath. I found removing and replacing those brackets a challenge requiring three hands, even AFTER removing the plastic so I could get at them.
There IS an equivalent LED bulb, look at my posts on this forum and it's identified with an Ebay link somewhere or another, but beware, until you confirm exactly what bulb you have now, don't buy any LED replacements -- they ain't cheap. Apparently, over time this scooter has come with more than one OEM bulb. My post about the bulb thing discusses my experiences on that. And also beware of possible laws against LED headlights, although I'm guessing that might not be as much of a problem in China.
BTW, you might get more attention to your questions by re-posting this in the Chinese 250+ classroom; I just stumbled across it while aimlessly browsing.
