Has anyone tried little bigger actual size weights? For instance the 150s normally take 18x14 but they have 19x15.5, 19x17 etc..
I notice on my Variator that there is quite a bit of play side to side and I am thinking maybe the 19x15.5 would work better and not rattle so much. And because of the 15.5 verses the 14 it would also push out the Variator more.
Any Thoughts on this, I am willing to be the science project on this unless someone can think of why it will not work or some drastic side effects. Alleyoop

No reason it won't work unless there is not enough play for the wider roller to slide in the track freely. I would think it the variator was this worn it might need replacing? Only tru way to know is to get some bigger rollers and see if they will slide well enough to know. If one hangs you have more than just rattle and you'll also be the first to know it! JR

Would sliders do better when starting out?

Yes, Sliders you get smoother acceleration through the ratios.

No the guy at Dr. Pulley is on vacation and sent me an email that he will be back Sept 1st. But the only ones I can try are the 19x15.5 and see if they will fit in the ramp. The 19x17 will be to wide and will not fit in the ramps. Alleyoop
