how can i brighten my headlights?
the daytime running lights (the one that looks like a backwards D with lines coming out of it pointing downward) are very small like night lights and don't illuminate anything after dark. No street/ground or even the signs as i'm riding it.
i'm very nervous because i'm sure it won't pass inspection and i'd hate to use my high beams (the backward D with lines coming straight out) b/c they do work and i can see better, but the ground is still very DIM. i'd hate to blind oncoming drivers.
Any advice you can give would be WONDERFUL.

Welcome to the forum! Ok from wht you've said it sounds like your lights are very poor in the dim position and only somwhat better on bright. Also you have the fear of blinding someone at night? I may be wrong but I don't think ,you'll have that fear, a lot of people run on bright on a scooter with no issues. Is this your scooter? .znen-motor.com/4-roar-scooter-1.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">.znen-motor.com/4-roar-scooter-1.htmlIf not then it's a BMS clone I'm sure. First of all do you have a owner's manual for the scooter? If so it may tell us what watt or size headlight bulbs are in your scooter? if not then the only way to find out is to pull the front cowling off and remove them to see. Also you can at the same time see if this model has adjusters on the llight system and we'll try to see about using a bigger bulb and adjusting them to help you see better. Going to bigger bulbs and adjusting them should be a lot of help. JR

For the record, I run my HID's on the high-beam setting about 70% of the time.. and they're waayyyy brighter than the OEM bulbs. When I had OEM, they were always set to the high-beam setting.

Welcome to the forum, theonly1honeybee. Determining what the OEM bulbs are will be a great help. Sometimes adjusting the aim helps. Most of the 250 scoots come with 25 or 35 watt headlights, but they are not the most efficient. Some of the direct replacement xenon bulbs might do the trick. Like yoster says, the HID bulbs are about the brightest for the money. I also have these on my scoot. HID's are not a direct replacement because of the additional electronics required to operate them. Let us know what you find. Pictures would also be a help.
