I was finishing up my parents tax return last night and came across the Alternative Vehicle Credit. Mostly used for Hybrids, Electric cars and such but, I was thinking ..... If a buy a new scoot this year, Can the purchase price be used as a energy efficient vehicle deduction/credit?  Just curious.... I assume an electric scoot qualifies but, Wouldn't just owning a scoot for daily commuting be considered An Alternative Vehicle Or a "Green" vehicle? Again Just curious if this is something others have thought of or do. Hell you can write off most everything else..... |

^^^^ Thank you for the time spent researching and that link!!!! It is indeed disappointing that a vehicle needs 4 wheels to qualify  There has to be away though..... Any Tax experts out there? Maybe a Major purchase credit or lifestyle change  Just wishful thinking..... thanks again for crushing my dream of a better rebate (just kiddin) |

Now that was funny!!!!!!! Thanks John.... Does that mean Trike kits should be considered cars? ? 4 wheels do touch the ground........ Just joking but, I'm sure some asshat has introduced a policy somewhere. Seriously though- Is there ANY type of known Tax break for owning a scoot??? Or, should I just accept that riding a scooter is way cooler than any other form of transportation and be happy with that  |

in some states you can use them in your taxes if you use it as or a service and theres also a milage and gas usage rite off for then but its state by state you have to check
