I'm back with another electrical issue with my scooter. I couldn't drive it yesterday because it was pouring rain and today I go to start it up and it's completely dead. Nothing was left on and the ignition was left in the lock position.
So what would cause the battery to completely die in one day without anything being used except the clock memory?

Are you sure the battery was fully charged? How old is the battery? I would charge the battery and then look for the battery drain culprit. I use a battery tender Jr. on my scoot and the orginal battery lasted almost 2 1/2 yrs. The battery we have to use has to be cared for or it will leave you stranded. Enjoy the ride.....

I agree. Start by looking at the battery. And do get a battery tender or small charger (2 amp)

If the battery is good, fully charged and it went dead overnight then for sure it's got a drain on it more than just the clock and you may have to start working on finding this gremlin with a good old multimeter.
I see the battery tender thing mentioned all the time not just for scooters but for lawn mowers etc.
Myself I do not own one, I do have a good slow 1/2 amp trickle charger that I use on a battery if needed. Maybe I'm just lucky but personalyl I believe it's about battery quality.
I have 4 scooters the oldest a 07 250A. Threw away the Chinese batteries in them the day they arrived and bought good quality higher AH/CCA batteries. MY 07 scooter was bought in 09, my 08 250B has a battery on it that was bought in Nov. 08 still cranks my scooter. My 07 has the same battery on it bought it in April 09 still does fine. Both of these scooters were not touched this winter from Oct to March, both started with no charging. My 08 Bali 150 also did the same.
My old craftsman mower has a 3 year old battery still starting. I did have to put my trickle charger on my boat trolling motor battery this spring, it hasn't been run in over a year. The batteries on both my Chevy trucks are 4 years old, again maybe I'm just lucky?
But I don't go to Walmart and buy their cheap made 6 month warranty batteries either. My scooter batteries I bought are jet ski batteries and cost over $75 each but they are 12AH/210CCA rated batteries also and they still are doing fine.
Again maybe I'm just lucky?

Thanks for the info JR. Not sure if you saw in my other post, but I ended up buying a 13.6V 15aH 275CCR lithium iron battery. So far this thing has made all electrical on the scooter work perfect and starts up with a single tap of the starter every time even when warm.
I did do something stupid and left the ignition to the start position for a day when it was raining and it drained the battery down to about 7V, but when I hooked it up to the 2amp trickle charger, it was back to full in less than 30 minutes. I think that's one perk of these batteries is their insanely fast charge times.
