I'm brand new to this board so hope I'm posting in the correct spot. If not, please feel free to point me in the right direction.

I have a 2011 Jonway YY250T and this morning on my way to work nearly all my lights blinked and went out. Headlights, brake lights, gauge lights, clock light, indicating lights. However, my turn signal lights and indicators are still functioning.

Is this a simply fuse problem or something else?

Welcome to the forum. Under the seat you'll find a fuse box with four 10A fuses and I would start there.

Checked the fuse box and one of the fuse leads was unseated so I reseated it... still nothing. And I was mistaken with the brake lights as those are working. Right now it's the headlights and dash lights that are not working at all.

I pulled off the front panels where the lights are located and I could not see any connectors that were loose or anything. I thought for sure that fuse lead would have been the problem

Any help on this is greatly appreciated as I'm nervous to drive without the headlights more for the fact that I don't wanna get pulled over.

Recheck those fuses. I had a similar problem and told the forum that all was well. But one day I went back into the fuse box and found one of the fuses had actually failed in such a way that it was not apparent. The fuse link did not burn away in the open area. It did actually have a break just by the joint of the upright and fuse link across.

I replaced that one 10A fuse and all was well once again.

I thought that might be the case as well but I swapped it out with one of the other 10A fuses and tried both the spares but still to no avail.

OK, then it is time for JR and some wiring information to trace down. Good luck and it is probably not hard to fix but may be hard to find.

Looking at the wiring diagram, I see that the brown wire of the fuse does indeed lead to all the lights I mentioned that are out. (Headlights, front running lights, all meter and indicator lights). But I see no problems with the fuse, fuse box, fuse wires.

JR it sounds like you're the expert so where do you think I should check next?

i am NOT a mech
but before u go nuts tracing wires
i suggest u recheck ur wires
u said they look fine
i had a prob once and it LOOKED like the connectors
were fine , but they weren't.
NOW i squeeze all of 'em

Thank you for the suggestion. I actually did squeeze all the connectors as that's the first thing I look for. Still not having any luck.

OK lets ease that fuse box holder out and the brown wire goes to the lights you mentioned but it will be fed by a yellow wire which ties in off of the R/R right before the diode. Check the wires both of them on the fuse box and make sure the soldier connections are good.

Also fire her up and see if we have any voltage on the yellow wire feeding the fuse box. The way you said it happened indicates either a blown fuse, bad connection or broke wire?

Also not being smart but you said the fuses are good? Are they the OEM Chinese fuses or ones you replaced them with? Reason I ask is Chinese fuses can look good but actually not be. Either ohm them to be sure or replace with quality American fuses.

If you have no voltage on the yellow wire (12Vdc +) then we got to get the side panel off and start tracing it down.

If you have voltage on the yellow wire then again check the fuse box connections, ohm the fuse and if you find nothing there then it's time to trace out the brown wire and find the gremlin.

Will be gone to grand daughters softball practice and will check back in later.

Thank you for the detailed response. I did change out all the fuses with brand new ones just in case. Just got home so I will try and see if I'm getting any readings from the yellow wire

Ok so I tested the yellow wire and it's only getting 1.3V. Brown wire is getting nothing

Pretty much have the whole thing torn down to the frame. I cannot find anything disconnected, broken, nothing. Hard to trace the wires when they're in the harness but I'm simply baffled and frustrated

Yes it's frustrating but you will have to open the harness up and go through the wires. all around the R/R are plugs and again since this happened suddenly it's telling me bad connection. One wire in a multi-plug hookup can go bad even look good by the naked eye and have problems.

Now here is the next step to eliminate other possibilities. Fire her up and lets make sure she's charging to the battery. You should get around 13Vdc and higher when you rev the engine when taking a reading on the battery so check that. If it's charging good the we have at least eliminated the stator and R/R and have it pinned down to the yellow wire to the fuse box whether it be a bad connection, broke wire or whatever.

If you are not getting a good charge then we still can have these same problems but it will give me a place to look at immediately and may save some time tearing into the harness.

Let me know what you have and we'll go from there.
