Given that I have a 2011 Jonway yy250t also - and I have exactly the same symptoms; i.e., running lights (headlights, taillights, gauge lights, etc.) flickered and went out while running, I need to know what's necessary to take off in order to get to the R/R. Or do I have to make the whole scoot naked?

See post #18 in this thread to see a picture of the R/R. It's the item with the large finned heat sink.
When I want to work on the R/R, I take off the rear fenders. First remove the seat. Remove the taillight assemblies from inside the access panel so that you will not be fighting the wiring. Remove all screws holding the rear fenders to the scoot. They are removed as a unit by spreading them apart slightly and working them towards the back of the scoot and then lifting to clear the R/R. I don't even bother removing the cable for the seat lock. I use a piece of wood and some padding material to hold the fender assembly out of the way. I do not remove the fender assembly, but move it enough to gain access.

Thank you, cruiser. I will give that a whack, tonight. I gotta get my ride on the road.

Hi Iceel.
Before you do any of that, check your fuse box. The first thing I noticed on mine was the pin connecting to the fuse which controls the lights was pushed way down. So make sure those fuses are in there nice and solid. Might save you having to rip apart the bike.
After you get those rear farings off, check and make sure the connectors leading up to the R/R have all their pins pushed up to where they should be and the connections are solid. As you may have read, the problem occurred for me when one of the three pins in the connector leading to the R/R had been pushed down and I had to secure it back in place with some needle nose pliers.

Do you know of a link to a video that shows the process for undressing one of these buggers?
