I would think if you have enough metal to drill it and tap it to the next size that would be a great way to go. If you can find a good rubber O ring to go by the head of the new bolt that would finish the deal. Also if you can use a flange head bolt that also would be a bonus.

First of all, which threads were striped? The plug or the pan? Second, don't use liquid metal or JB Weld on threads unless you don't want to remove the bolt again. (on these scoots, that"s unlikely) If you"re only talking about the bolt then I would run a tap through the threads of the pan @ the same size to clean them up of any crap that might be left from the mickey mouse repair. IF all is good with them after that, get a new flanged bolt and rubber O ring as Damin69 said. Remember NOT to over tighten it! (I'll add that if you rub a little clean oil on the O ring before installing, it last longer.) If your pan threads are shot, go with re-tapping to next size up and still do the new plug deal. Rubber O ring will work (almost) every time as there is no pressure behind it. Use them all the time and you can find them in the plumbing dept. of hardware stores (for toilets). Hope that helps, M/C

Sorry JR but that's the truth. We're a "Dangerous & Malicious" bunch of scooter riders here! ;D ;D ;D It has to do with photo bucket and not anything that is going around or any type of wrong doing by ANY posts or members. NO, this site is not planting anything in your hard drive that is going to be harmful or track where you buy your under ware. I'll explain in a pm or post if you want clarification. Like I said...damn computer geeks! Not to hijack the post, Chris did you get her fixed??M/C
