so I looked around... and the yellow wire had pulled loose from the connector on my choke... I splice them together... I crank it and I'm still having the same problem...

Check your intake MANIFOLD it could of cracked and sucking in a lot of air. Hitting that pothole made the carb bounce a lot and may have put a crack in the MANIFOLD where the Carb attaches. Alleyoop

I agree with Alley , I would check the spark plug wire , the wires fron the CDI on the coil . Push on the carb while it is running and see if it changes sound or RPM , if it does like Alley said its cracked . I would not bother to look for the crack , I would just replace it .

Manifold looks ok... checked all of the other stuff as well... nothing... here is a better description...
Accelerates just fine... until about half throttle... then it sputters a bit after that. If I ease back on the throttle, it recovers. if I continue to push the throttle up, it will eventually just cut off.

get some compressed air. or starter fluid. or propane, and spray it around the carb and intake manifold. if rpms change then it cracked. thats a way to check it instead of visiual inspection.

if it is in fact a cracked manifold... what is a temp solution until I can get the part needed?
I don't have any of those things around unfortunately... and my scooter is my only transportation... it is broken down at the moment in hopes of finding a solution to this before tonight.

I think it is your DIAPHGRAM, I bet if you let off the throttle enough it will keep running. Your Manifold looks good no cracks. So take off the top Cover on the carb and pull out the complete diapghram with the needle. Either the Rubber diaphgram is ruptured or the needle is bent or something. So when you open the throttle it is not riseing and nothing but air is coming in and not enough fuel. SHIT the needle might have come loose is just staying down. Here is what it should look like: Alleyoop

you might be able to get by till the new one comes by a very thin bead of super glue on just the tear to keep it together. /a long time ago there used to be some bulk o-rings that you used super glue to join the ends. super glue is strong be not very flexible. even if it were to leak a little that will be better than torn/ john
