Jonway YY250-T Shocks Question By calmissile (Read 1,411 times)

I purchased a used 2008 Jonway YY-250T with only 300 miles on it. In the process of troubleshooting a cooling problem I removed the rear side panels to get access the engine and discovered a loose (upper) bolt on the frame that appears to be for the left shock absorber that is missing.

It also appears that the right and left shocks have different mounting ears on them. A search of all the parts places on line only show one shock style. The sketches on the Jonway web site show what appears to be the right shocks (different mounting for left and right).

Do any of these on line parts places know what they are doing? They all seem to copy the same catalogue and none of them have the correct part listed for the left shock.

Also, the existing shock installed on the right side appears to be adjustable with a spanner wrench for spring pressure. It this the original shock for the bike and are the replacements the same thing?

On the banners above give Dave with Abscooters a call, he knows this scooter very well sees them every day and will have the right shock. I'll also holler at the guys here who own this scooter for a shock replacement.

I own the sister to this the linhai version and both shocks are the same on each side and not adjustable. It sounds like someone put something on there that doesn't belong.

My Jonway Does have adjustable shocks. And the way they mount I do believe is different for both shocks. They are the same lengths but the bottom mount is different from right side to left side..

Not sure which ones but here is one place that has some parts.

But As JR said you probably want to Give Dave a call he can probably point you in the right direction for the corrects ones for each side.

Thanks guys for the response. Yes, the proper shocks are different between right and left sides and the original ones are adjustable. The advertised ones are not adjustable and only show the mounting ears for one side, not both. I finally found a source of the correct shocks and they are adjustable as well as priced right!

Well, I received the pair of shocks from the link above and they are the exact replacement and a adjustable. The mounting ears are different just like the originals. This is the only source I could find after spending many hours on line and the phone. At about $50 for the pair, you can't beat that!!
