Check out the dealers on the Banner on the top of the page you have to know what motor you have and PAY close attention to the wireing or plug in to compare it to your plug. If the dealers on the banner do not have one just GOOGLE for Regulator/Rectifier for your motor or scooter type, then just find one that matchs yours.
It could also be to close to something hot if so move it. Alleyoop

If you got a Volt meter start the scoot and check your battery to see how much the regulator is putting out , if it is 15 or higher it is toast and that is why it is getting hot. Alleyoop

would this explain why my regulator is getting hot? yup usually should run around 13-14 volts i believe. you can get a new regulator or stator from Partsforscooters.com i believe they have the parts for what your looking for they are located in Florida and ship VERY FAST! GOOD LUCK! electrical problems are the worst!
