Must have been the A/F setting. Today it started and was ready to go right away. Thanks again.

Thanks for the input. The carb is lower than the tank and the fuel lines do flow down to the carb.
Tonite I adjusted the air/fuel screw. I did drill it out when I did my PDI. I also adjusted the idle after setting the air/fuel screw. Should I go ahead and order a new unsealed carb? Will it be more reliable?
Since it is brand new now 20km on odo, do you think I should set the valves? I watched a video and am sure I can do it, just didn't know if it was necessary already.
It ran great this evening. After it has cooled down completely, it will generally fire right up, but it won't accelerate without revving it for a bit, then it will go. I'll have to wait until tomorrow and try it again.
Thanks!
Troy

I just bought a brand new Taotao Speedy. I uncrated it myself. Changed the plug to NGK, changed the engine oil, put on clear fuel lines and removed the vac actuated fuel pump and put in a manual fuel shut off valve. I capped the vac port on the carb.
Most of the time the scoot starts right up, but will not accelerate. If I rev it slightly for a minute or two, it will eventually go.
After a 10 minute ride today, it sat for an hour, then it didn't want to start or idle.
Where should I start?
