The other day I went for a ride on my BMS Pathfinder 200. Got out about 3 miles and cruising about 50 and the thing just quit. I had to tow it home. Tore into it today, took off all the tupperware around the engine. I put in a new NGK plug, no start. Took valve cover off and intake was right on, exhaust was so loose I was able to get a .050 feeler gauge in there. I tightened that up to .005, no start. I pulled the hose off after the filter and gas would squirt out as I tried to start. I took the plug out and with it in the spark plug wire it would spark. Help!!!!!

Spay a bit of starting fluid in the carb. where the air filter hose connects and then right straight try to start it, if it tries to kick off and run for a second, you have a clogged jet in the carb most likely.
Pull the carb. remove the main jet and spray it and the rest of the carb out very good with carb. cleaner, just because you have fuel to the carb doesn't mean it's getting metered into the engine.
Good luck..... Peace

I will be doing the gas into the carb opening when I get time tomorrow.

Mapbike is for sure on the right path. We got spark, good compression, fuel pump putting out fuel, last thing are we getting fuel to the engine and had the same thing happen to my wifes 250A just quit but it would idle the main jet was clogged, sounds like you low speed one is because it won't even idle.
Also you can pull the vacuum hose from the intake manifold and spray a touch of carb cleaner it in and hit the start button if she fires time for a carb cleaning.

Right on JR, Good point about just putting a shot of carb cleaner in a vacuum port, I like to use WD-40 as a starting fluid as well. Great advice.. Map Mapbike is for sure on the right path. I pulled the carb and cleaned it out. Took the jets out and ran a wire thru the holes. Put the carb back on and put some gas down the vacuum line and bike started but would not idle. Started it again and it would run like 4000 rpm then would drop to nothing and engine would die. Now what do I do?

Check the diaphragm in the top of the carb.. it could have a hole or it might be twisted. There is usually a cut-out in the rubber edge that aligns with a tab on the rim of the carb...

Took carb off again and took apart, diaphragm looks good. This piece in the following picture came out of somewhere and I don't know where.

You mean it came out of the carb like the float bowl when you removed the cover? Does it have a tiny hole? From this picture it looks like a brass seat of some sort?

I found where it goes just a minute ago. When I took the jets out and turned the carb over the thing fell out. I found a thing on youtube where someone had tore down a carb. There's a big end and small end. The big end goes in first then the main jet goes in. I have the parts soaking in carb cleaner and will re-assemle tonight. I hope this gets me going. Thanks JR you are always a help just as you did a few years ago with my 250.

soak the carb parts in a basin of seafoam or thinner, this will dissolve all varnish and gums inside.
