Thanks JR. This was my original problem before changing out the stator (which I evidently did not need). I first replaced the R/R & diode.........did not help. Then the mechanic in Cali where I purchased the scoot advised me it then HAD to be the stator..........NOT. So now, I'll take a closer look at the wires (again) and see if anything looks broken.
Are those three light areas feeding thru the same circuit?? Dash, head, and stop?

OK guys, I got the Idler gear back into position and got the scoot started!! The bomber is.......I still have NO HEADLIGHTS, NO Brake lights, and NO Dash lights! The tail light is on, the turn signals work, and the horn blows. I replaced the fuses in the fuse box with 4 new ones. Also replaced the in-line fuse going to the battery.
Any suggestions??

These should give you an idea of what I was speaking of as far as the parts fitting together.......but I'm sure you already knew this. I hope all this work I did will correct the problem I had with my lights (dash, head, brake, and signal) Attachments:

Well Alleyoop, pretty good news so far!! Yesterday I took the tubing and stator cover off and when I pulled it off, the small gear wheel feel out. It must not have been seated properly. I merely repositioned it and made sure I stabbed it with the arm coming off the inside of the cover as well as the arm with the slot which lines up with another part. Once I got them both aligned, I pushed to cover on and before I bolted it I was able to turn the variator on the opposite side. I haven't tried to start it yet because once I got the cover completely on with the tubing, hoses, and wiring, I added the new oil back in it but haven't put antifreeze in yet. I do think that mis-aligned gear was preventing it from turning over just as you said! I'm adding these pics I took and will let you know if it starts when I can get back to it (in a day or two.........been working a little O.T. on the job). Attachments:

I'm not too familiar with the names of all the parts (my 2nd scoot) but I only removed the cover which has the water pump on it and the stator that mounts to the inside cover. I'll send more photo's and details when I pull it back off.

And the sad thing is..........this scooter I bought brand new out the crate and it only has 1600 miles on it. I've had to replace so many parts in less than 2 years!

It's all one long odd shaped piece. The largest bolt goes to the bottom of the engine and the one way up top mounts into the side right beneath the seat. Two of the bolts have holes through them and I assume that's for oil passage.
I'll just have to remove more panels and my seat in order to access it a bit easier. I have to drain my new oil also. I only put water in it just to flush it if it had started (glad I didn't add the expensive anti-freeze I bought yet).

It's attached to the housing with 3 bolts and wraps around to the back, so it's just enough in the way where the whole darn thing has to be removed. The top bolt is way up by the seat and took a very long time to try and get it back on. Attachments:

OK Alleyoop, will do because it was running before I took it apart.
btw, do you know of an easy way to deal with the silver tubing attached to the cover??

Yes, as in the title of this original post and I only removed the stator cover/housing which had a slotted stem-like fitting that went to a gear. I tried to be sure everything lined back up as removed when I replaced it. I can't remember the exact inside parts but on my Roketa, the stator was screwed to the underside of the cover and not mounted on the flywheel. I used silicon gasket seal to reinstall because the new gasket I ordered didn't even line up with the housing holes.
Do you recommend me taking the stator cover back off and checking inside?? I really had a hard time with reinstalling that chrome tubing that runs from the top of the motor along the outside of the stator cover and around to the backside of motor.
BTW........the variator wouldn't turn at all. I didn't try to force it too hard nor did I use a 1/2" drive ratchet.

OK, the bolt in the back (where the tire is) turns freely, but the one in the front will not turn at all (either way). So I guess maybe the slotted part inside the stator housing may not have lined up accurately with the gear or something. Is there any way you can give me a call and advise me how to proceed from here?? I'm not sure if I need to take the whole assembly loose again or what

Is the crank located under the cover by the rear wheel?
