I just wanted to follow up by saying thank you again for all of your help. I replaced the CDI and coil, and that fixed it.
Just FYI Maybe there's another place for this, but... While I was replacing my front brake rotor, I noticed my tire was wearing funny (bumps all along the middle of the tire). Then I realized the tire way under inflated. That's what caused the tire to wear badly. Moral, check the tire pressure in your tires. I never checked the front because it never looked low!

Yes, from most of the wiring diagrams I've looked at, I concluded that the kill switch just grounded out the CDI. So, I just pulled the two wires from the kill switch, Black/White (coming from the CDI) and the green wire (ground), and cut and taped them off separately.
Yes, I found the CDI and traced every wire to it's origin (pain).
Five wires come out of the CDI:
Green - ground Red/White - going to the pulse coil/trigger coil/pickup coil Yellow/Black - going to the ignition coil then onto spark plug White/Black - Kill switch Black - 12vdc (with the ignition switch in "on" position only)
The CDI has two plugs, a four terminal square plug (3 are used: ground, pulse coil, ignition coil) and a two terminal plug (ignition 12Vdc power and the kill switch)
The ignition coil also has a ground wire going to it and two terminals.

Well, I looked thru all of the recommended manuals you suggested. However, without knowing which one is the right one, it's hard to conclude if my parts are bad or not.
Forgive the length, but I would like to give you a brief history of how the scooter was behaving and see if I'm on the right track.
One day, when I was 98% home from my 30minute commute, upon letting of the gas to make a turn, it just died. I started it back up and continued until I let off the gas at the top of a hill, and it died again. I changed the fuel filter and thought I was good. I think I even made a couple of more round trips to work and no issues. I was on the way home another day, and after waiting at a stop light, when I gave it gas, it died. It started, but would die if I gave it gas. Pushed it to the gas station (across the street) and filled up, thinking maybe it was out of gas (it was only about half empty). But, it went all the way home without issue.
I took the fuel filter of and planned to buy better one in a few days. I took it around the block and no issues. I tried to take it to work the next day, and while it was just idling in the driveway while I ran in the garage to shut the garage door, it died, and would not start.
I took off the carb (ugh!) and took it completely apart, cleaned it, and put it back on, but it would still not start (turns over, just doesn't start). The first time doing the latest checks, I swear it had spark, but when I checked it a couple days later, no spark.
So here's when I started digging into how to back into where the problem might be. The manuals all say there is really no way to check the CDI. I measure resistance on the exciter/pulse/trigger coil (the thing in the engine flywheel, and measures 118. I just pulled the kill switch apart and perminately bypassed it's functionality. But again, my lack of good specs keeps me from making any conclusions.
So, I guess if someone good just make me feel good that it's either the ignition coil and/or the CDI, I will just buy both.
Any more recommendations for where to buy parts would be most appreciated. My google searches with the part #'s has not been fruitful.
Again, sorry for the long post.

I bought a Haynes manual(2760) that does not list specs for the Tank, but hoped that they are the same as the Daelim model S2-250. Specifically, I need the Ignition coil primary and secondary resistance specs. My scooter isn't getting spark and when I tested primary, it was .6 - .7 ohms, and secondary was 7.73k. The carb is getting fuel (took it all apart anyway to check everything and cleaned it). The vacuum actuated fuel pump is working. Just FYI - have had no problems with her since I bought her new in 2007(15,000 Chinomiles!). Suddenly started dying while riding. Her nickname is: Champagne - Supernova
I guess if someone knows of a manual that addresses Tank brands, that would be a good thing for me as well.
The numbers on the coil are: SMDX125CJ-12 1007 06040 1
My internet searching is coming up with a lot of dead ends. I think I saw where Tank brand has gone under?

Just saying hi! I've been riding my scooter (2007 Tank 250) since she was new. Now with over 15,000 Chinomiles.
