Did you buy this scooter new? It's possible they strapped it on the frame under the battery box but it's got one or at least is supposed to have one? Got two of these scooters the 250 A & B and both fuses are right by the battery. If for some reason you find no fuse which also should be on a black wire then either you have a broke wire off of the ignition again the black wire or a bad ignition switch? But I'm betting the fuse is hid and blown. JR Hey JR. I guess I'll have to take out some plastics to really know what's going on. Yes, that was a brand new scooter from KillerMotosport. JCL MP250-A. I never messed around with that fuse. The black wire is the ground, right? I'm betting it must be attached to the frame somewhere? Just want to have a little understanding of what to expect when I remove the plastics. For some reason, maybe the fuse had slipped under the battery cover. If you say there is one, then it must be there. I didn't pull on the black wire the other day, though, just the red. I didn't think the ground would matter but see I was wrong! It's a blade type fuse holder and it might have slipped out of the battery area and fell back down toward the belly pan but it's in this area. It has a little cap on it and you just pop it off and there is the fuse. JR Wow! That fuse is really the elusive type! I removed the cover yesterday and removed the battery, no fuse. I pulled the red wire as much as I could without breaking it and still no fuse in sight. I will try to remove the plastics around it this weekend and will try to search for it again. That has really me stomped! |

Ok the 250A has two fuses, one is located on the body of the starter solenoid behind the right side panel above the muffler, if it blows then nothing, nada the scooter is dead even with the remote. The other fuse is a 15 amp one right under the battery cover under the seat. Remove the two screws of the battery cover and it should be right there. Now what's funny is if this fuse is blown the scooter will start and function with the remote starter because what one must understand is the remote is just an electronic switch of all the functions that the key ignition controls and it is wired in direct from the 20 amp fuse that I mentioned so just think of your remote as the same thing as the key except you turn it on remotely instead of inserting a key. Also a dead give away if this fues is blown is if you turn on the key to the 250A then these things will work if this fuse is good with just the key on. Brake light horn turn signals instrument and license plate light radio front side running lights gas guage Even with this fuse blown it will start and run fine with the remote but one needs to start and run with the key ignition because the remote can sometimes going down the road have a mind of it's on and shut the scooter engine off, had it happen to me. Get a good new 15 amp fuse and this should do the trick! JR Thanks, JR! I must be blind because yesterday, I removed the battery cover and checked if it was there and didn't see any fuse. Is it like a regular car fuse or something else? The symptoms you describe really point to that fuse, *not* the one on the starter. |

Wow! I'm the first to post something here!
I've been having a weird problem with my MP250-A. Turning the key in the contact will no longer turn the scooter on, so I can't start it. I still can using the remote, which is what I've been using since. However, I'd like to fix this problem, if possible.
I'm thinking that maybe one of the main fuse is blown up but I'm not sure if that's the case. I did remove the battery cover under the seat as I thought the fuses were hosted there but they were not. So, where are they and what plastics do I need to remove to access them?
More importantly, given the symptoms, is this something worth pursuing?
