Another question - does anyone actually have the wiring diagram (or service manual) for this model? I've read many posts here where people have replied with other off-brands that may be similar, and others thinking it was the Linhai 300cc, but I'm guessing they were for the ATV's, because the wire colors were always way off.

Talking to Jim from Sunright today, he suggested to check for a short between CDI and the ignition coil. There wasn't any. Also said to check in the shut-off switch in case there was a short there. Nope. Ended up taking the body panels off and checking any ignition related wire anywhere, and couldn't find anything. Thinking that the "new CDI" may be bad... No way to tell, and no extra to swap it out with. There's no spark, and no voltage to speak of at the spark plug boot when it turns over. Might need to trailer it to a repair shop so they can swap some items out... Any other thoughts?

Speaking from my limited experience, "it appears to be". I'm not sure if there's a photo or diagram available, but the connectors appeared to be deliberately configured to go one way. (Small connector on the smaller lead, larger connector on the large lead, and ground to the frame when you bolt the coil in place with the 5mm bolt.)

My son just saved up and purchased a used 2008 300cc Aeolus. Test drove it quite a bit, seemed just fine.
On our 35+ mile drip home, while I was riding it, about 10 miles in, the thing just died on me. Started right back up. Then did this over and over again. Sat for a while, then started back up. Would idle for a long time, but under load, kept stalling over and over again. Got to be where I couldn't get it to start at all again, and it stayed that way. Pushed the 370lbs bike about 4 miles to a local scooter repair place for the next morning. They replaced the CDI. (Seems to make sense, as I've been reading here and other forums about CDI's going often, especially when hot.)
Drove it from the shop to home - almost. Got about 10 miles from home and it stopped for good again. After getting a trailer and towing it home, I had a mechanic friend look at it. He was about to remove the spark plug to check the spark, and just about burned his hand on... The ignition coil. It was super hot to the touch. (Not exhaust, because we haven't gotten it to run yet.) So, he removed it and I ordered a replacement.
That one got here, installed it, and it wouldn't even turn over. Next issue: the 7.5a fuse blew. Replaced that and it turns over again but still won't start. Went to make sure the spark plug boot was on tight and/or check spark plug for spark, and the NEW ignition coil was super hot. I should mention that I did *NOT* crank it for a long time or anything. Likely 3 tries for maybe 5-10 seconds each.
Something must be getting the ignition coils hot. (Disconnected and removed it until I can figure this out.)
Has anyone seen such an issue? Any clues to what could make the ignition coil get so hot? I'm not sure what to check next.
