John, I can't get any of your links to bring up a web page. Would there be any advantage to a normal scooter rider to use a performance CDI when everything else is stock?

I'm thinking there may not be a cdi currently in there....I notice that boot you show int he picture...but no CDI for those to click into. hmmmmm. Being its sat for who knows how long. What do you think about new batter, new cdi, and for 25 bucks just picking up a new carb. I can keep current carb for a back up and clean that all up.
i would think I'd be well on my way to it starting. That and for the price of a spark plug I'll replace that too!

cyborg, what about those connections? I'm thinking something isn't exactly connected correctly.
I'm going to replace the battery and spark plug and try it out.

Hello all, My first official post. My hopes are that I can learn alot about troubleshooting and actually fixing 50cc scooters with the help of this forum.
I picked up this scooter from a local guy that just had it sitting in garage. The typical story. Ran great. parked it and wouldnt start back up. This was over a year ago. The battery looks old and it doesn't kick start. I made sure that engine wasnt seized and it would turn over before attempting to pick it up. Body is perfect and looks like it was well taken care of. they had taken it apart and I can see a few connections are hanging.
Curious to know what it might take or where to start in order to try and at least get it to start via kick start. Batteries are cheap for these so I thought about getting a battery.
Help! I can provide pics of anything you want to take a look at. Has key ignition and all parts are there, just a few connections I can't find where they plug into under the seat.
-Joe
