Hi, thanks for the info about the output voltages. The short I found was a open ground from the cdi to frame. For my testing I used the stock one. But it still doesn't work, so I'm guessing that it fried. Now before I use the no rev one, I'm trying to figure out if my no rev one may have different plug arrangement then the stock one. It's supposed to be for a Honda dio. I know it's a dc cdi as it is HUGE. Now I'm wondering if the dio plus it different from mine.

So yeah, since I haven't gotten any responses from here, I just decided to convert y DC system to AC. I've ordered the cdi, stator and a new ignition coil as well.

yes, the cdi has full power, 12.5vdc. i ever did the voltage test on the ground terminal of the cdi and it reads 12.5vdc. the pickup coil reads a good 1.6vac, now i just need to know what the output voltage of the cdi is supposed to be. and to know how to do i test on my ignition coil to see if its bad or not.

I managed to find a few 15a fuses to do some tests. And I found out that when ever I have the cdi plugged in the fuse blows, but when it isn't plugged in the fuse doesn't blow. So it's something in the cdi wiring that is causing the short . But I ran out of fuses so I'll have to wait to get more.

i do believe i have the right CDI, its a 2 stroke dc no rev limit cdi. heres a link to where i got it. .monsterscooterparts.com/no-rev-cdi-honda-zx-50.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">.monsterscooterparts.com/no-rev-cdi-honda-zx-50.htmli have purchased parts from this site before and ive never had any problems with their products. now, i did get a fuse into the scooter and did a voltage test without the cdi installed, the cdi power still gets the 12.5v that i tested before. with this test i used the frame as my ground point. my next one i used the wiring harness, and the fuse blew. so im guessing that ill have to tear into the wiring harness and may have to replace ALL the ground wiring. and i may replace the CDI power wire from the ignition switch as well while im at it. ill have to wait until monday when i get paid to find out more.

Well, I got y new cdi's. But now I keep blowing fuses. I had the scooter running for 5 seconds, till the 15a fuses blew. So now I got to go find some fuses. If the bike keeps blowing the fuse what would cause it? Incorrect ground, or a something drawing too much power?

Will do, and thank you for your help. Once I get the new cdi's I'll let you know.

im using the stock cdi that came with the scooter, i picked it up used, but the bike is brand new, not even 13kms on it. even though that wouldnt matter much. i was guessing it was dc powered from the tests i did before my last post. as for the cdi, i was guessing it was bad, cause i even did a voltage test for the ign coil power, there was none, i did it in every voltage setting on my tested and nothing showed up, even though everything else has power and works. so, i just ordered a couple new cdi's, both a stock and no-rev limit DC cdi for the 1pe40qmb. it cost me extra for the express shipping, but if one or both of the new cdi's fix my problem, then its worth it.

I got the battery into the bike, it turns over, all the bells and whistles work. But still no spark. I did the voltage gets that you mentioned, and I get a steady 1.5v ac. I also checked the voltage going into the cdi from the battery, it's a steady 12.56v dc. I redid all my grounds, but yet no spark. So I did a test on the cdi with the power on and with the black power wire plugged in, the power wire gets the 12.56v, but while I have it plugged into the cdi, it reads 4.3v. Using were the green ground wire plugs into the cdi. Does this mean I have a bad cdi?

Yes, that is my scooter. Yes it's a 2 stroke. The stator wires are as follows. Green White Yellow Pickup coil Blue/white going to red/white to cdi. The cdi wires are Yellow/black= ign coil Green =ground Red/white= trigger pulse Black = not sure. I just got a battery after posting this and I am letting it charge, then I'll test tomorrow to see if the scooter runs. I'm new to the whole cdi thing. I'm used to working on older 2 stroke bikes.

Hello, I'm trying to figure out my scooters ignition system. I've done some research and found that most of these engines and scooters with this engine have 5 to 6 wire stator and cdis. Now mine is a little weird, both stator and cdi have 4 wires. One wire from stator pickup coil goes to cdi, one to ign coil, one is ground and the other is cdi power. The cdi power is a black wire that comes fromthe wiring harness. If it helps my scooter is a longjia lj50qt-k. Now my scooter doesn't have spark, the stator is working as it should as I tested the leads. I put a new cdi and coil on it, and still nothing, so I need a little bit of help. Any would be greatly appreciated.
