Cheers Cyborg - Finally got the bike running again last night. Started first time on electric and runs like a new one. Thanks for you and JR's assistance recently.

Thanks for the reply - so is a pipe optional and only used when you need to drain the bowl to allow direction into a recipient?

Photo similar to the pipe I described in my earlier thread (some photos have a tube on and some don't) confusing...

Oh I forgot to add - At the bottom of the carb there is an 'L' shaped metal tube looks like it should have a pipe on it, there was no pipe connected before I removed it and no sign of one to go on it? Any ideas please.

Well - Finally got around to removing the fairing and engine intake manifold and there was the little offending bolt lodged in the reed valve. Just gonna put it all back together. Any tips for starting after de-winterisation IE running from drained fuel (do I throttle, crank on kick start no ignition etc). Many thanks in advance.

Thanks JR - I will try the magnet thing first. What is the first thing that the screw would hit down the inlet manifold from the carb please?

Hi - New issue now that the carb is spotless. Whilst fitting the electric choke I dropped the screw/washer down the throttle hosing. Removed the carb but it seems to have gone down into the engine manifold. Tipped the scooter vertical and prodded around, nothing obvious in there. Going to purchase a flexible magnet and give that a go. Any other ideas would be appreciated as I don't look forward to stripping the fairings/engine out. Also, what would be the concequences of leaving it down there and running the scooter???

Hi my SGX50 Sky was winterised, started after 3 attemps on electric however fuel leaks from carb overflow pipe. Could this just require the carb to be cleaned and the float checking for grime? Many thanks in advance.

Same problem - when I cover the air intake grill with my hand she fires ok on electric. Can't rev her for a few minutes unless the intake is covered. Anyone know a cure for this please?
