Sort of. I lived there half my life. I grew up in PA. I currently live in Atlanta. I lived from St. Vincent, AR, to Oppelo, Morrilton, Conway, Little Rock, and Bryant. Most of my time was in Little Rock, but in Oppelo I lived about 2 miles from the paper mill.

Ok, It's been over a month, but I've gotten most everything replaced on the bike. I've replaced so far: the keyed ignition, the wiring harness(finally got it mostly wired, only the headlight remains), the reciprocator, the CDI, the ignition coil, the stator, the starter, and the battery. I cleaned out the carb, as it was full of gunk from having fuel sit in it for so long. Today I got the last of the parts I've gotten so far on the bike, and hit the starter button. Took some feathering with the throttle, but I got it to fire up! She ran on her own for about a minute each time, before dying due to me releasing the brake, or the carb just flooding out. My next step is to figure out the vacuum diagram and likely replace all the hoses on it. But I got it to run. That's what means the most to me. I now know that this thing isn't a waste of money!
And it looks like Tao Tao is the best match for fairings.

I'll post some tomorrow, after work. I just don't have the energy tonight. I'll also lay out each piece and take individual pieces. Currently the bike is little more than a frame, engine and wiring harness. Once the engine fires, I'll start painting and putting it all back together.
How do you post pictures on here? I trued inserting images before, but I wasn't familiar with the url bar.

The famous JR ! Thanks for the technical. I'm sure common sense should have told me that, but there's always something we don't know yet. I used to have a 1991 Honda CB750 Nighthawk. I had a Wolo Bad Boy airhorn on it. 118 dB. First time I rode without my helmet on, I had to use it on a car that was cutting me off. It scared the S**t out of me, had me wondering where the train had come from LOL. My scooter, btw, is a Wuxi Huina HN50QT-1. I believe this is a scooter that even THEY have disowned, which is probably why I found it on the side of the road with a "free" sign on it. However, as far as the headlight goes, I've been researching, and I've found that a Tao Tao Sunny 2 headlight will mount just fine on it, so $30 plus shipping will solve that matter for me. As my issues evolve, my new questions are as follows: 1. Are there any websites with a decent selection of fairings? I've got this problem with only finding a pathetic selection of fairings on each website, and while I understand that finding fairings for my particular scooter are impossible, there are some universal pieces I can get, but I cannot find them anywhere. Anyone have any sort of gold mine website for fairing selections? 2. I'm also wanting to get an external trunk. I am finding them everywhere, so that's not the issue. My only concern is, what issues are there with mounting a rear trunk, and still being able to have access to the fuel tank? Are there any particular things I need to look out for when I pick a trunk out? Thanks a bunch for the replies. I've been photodocumenting my progress on rebuilding this bike, and once I get it completed, I'll be more than happy to share all of my experiences on here. |

Thanks for the reply. Oddly enough, I had a weird dream about a fire that was brown, white and yellow. When I woke up, I was thinking about my scooter, and I checked the wiring again, and I found a plug with a yellow wire and a brown/white wire. I tried them on the killswitch and plugged in the starter wires, and it worked. I wish I were making this up, but it very much literally came to me in a dream, lol.
Sadly, I believe I may need a new ignition coil, so that gets ordered next, and when it gets put on the bike, I do believe that it should fire right up. Starter is strong, stator looks great, small oil leak somewhere, but baby steps. The only thing I don't have wired up is the headlight, which will have to wait until I actually have a bulb. I have no clue what kind of bulb to get for this socket, so I may have to either get an entirely new socket, or go to a local shop and overpay for the proper bulb.
Right now, my current issue would be my horn. I got it all hooked up, but when I hit the horn button, it chirps only, and chirps again when I release it. Is there some sort of circuit that should create perhaps an AC current to work the horn? Or am I over thinking this and just need a new horn? Cause if I need a new horn, it'd be a good excuse to just go with a Wolo.

Hello. First time poster here. I'm wondering if anyone can give me some help with my scooter's wiring. I ordered a universal harness for my GY6 139QMB engine. I've got nearly everything wired in properly. CDI, Rectifier, Stator, fuel tank float, gauges board, blinkers, all of it. I know the wiring so far for the headlight, and I've figured out the blinkers. My only issue is with the kill switch/starter button. The wires from the harness don't really match any diagrams 100%...
The plug to this setup consists of 4 wires: one red/yellow, one black/white, and two greens. I know which greens go with which striped wire. Now I've found on the wiring harness a plug with a red/yellow and green wire on it, so suffice it to say that this is the starter plug. But the other two sets of wires that go with these wires are not black/white and green. They are brown and yellow, and brown/white and yellow. At least I think this is what I've narrowed them down to. I know which wires on this side of the harness are for the front blinker light, the right hand brake light, the black and green wires I thought were for the kill switch actually blew my fuse when I bridged them, and there are two other sets of three wires each that have unique connectors (The kind that you'd use on tube fuses.)
I would keep on attempting to match up the wires, except I'm down to my last fuse, and I'm not exactly prepared to bet the wiring harness that I've picked the next two wires wisely. Can someone give me some insight to this harness? I'd tell you who made it if I knew.
