The Tenth Annual Scooting The Ozarks Rally will be September 11-16, 2017 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. STO is open to all scooters, and motorcycles are also welcome.

Registration for STO 2017 is now open. Early Bird registration, $25 per person, is 7 days only. $35 Jan. 8 through May 30. $45 June 1 until rally time. Registration is now done online, and payment by PayPal. link

Registration includes at least one meal, a rally shirt (register before Aug. 15 to insure your size), and one chance to win a GoPro Hero Session Cam (must be pre-registered and present to win). We plan riding all 6 days of the rally. Also being planned are a Show-n-Shine, bingo, karaoke, a pot-luck meal, and of course, most important, lots and lots of riding the twisties of the Arkansas Ozarks!

Getting close to Rally Time! Here's what our rally coordinator posted on Facebook yesterday evening:

Hey guys......
Hope everyone is good and looking forward to the rally that's soon coming in the next few days 13 and counting to be exact. If you are coming to the rally and have not sent your registration please do so now or let me know if you will be registering at the rally. Just trying to get an approx. head count for the meal.
I will go ahead and tell you this for the 10th Annual STO Rally 2017. I think it's time to change locations entirely. As I have already started scoping out new places and working to gather info.
of new areas, places, lodging and camping.
As soon as I get this info I will post it ASAP. I am very aware that folks are bored with the past location, and I understand.
Quality Inn (formerly Comfort Inn) have been awesome to STO. They have been more than accommodating for the past rally's. But we need a change and I would love to open up new doors in other areas. I've ran some ideas to other staff members and I think and hope that its safe to say they agree. I will discuss this a little more at the rally.

I'd like to share what Lance, our STO Rally Coordinator, posted on STO's Facebook page earlier today:

Hey folks..It's just under 2 month's away until our 9th annual STO Rally. If you have never been please come at least once. It's nothing fancy. We are all pretty much a very laid back group of folks who enjoy riding twisty roads, enjoy beautiful scenery, and enjoy each other's freindship and fun. There are lots of photo opportunities around there. For some folks or most it's a getawy for a few days from our everyday routine to enjoy something different. It's my yearly get away to a different atmosphere. Somewhere I can go and more or less to clear my mind so to speak.

Eureka has a special charm about it. Some say if you've been there once then you've been there. The staff work together every year to make this an enjoyable time for everyone. We have a fee to help cover the cost of organizing etc.. We(The Staff) make no profits on this whatsoever. No one gets paid a penny. Just our own personal time put into this to see other riders and their rides.

I know in the earlier years there were some sort of vendors set up. But now days it's almost to near immpossible to get one to attend a Scooter rally. This is considered a riding rally. Where we try to focus on a daily ride somewhere. There will be self guided rides and formed group rides of 10 with a ride leader. I'm thinkinhg about maybe trying to do a photo op ride. Where we can just ride and find places to stop and take a few pictures.

I've been asked and recieved a few calls about motorcycles. They're fine to come ride along with us too. We won't stop you from joining us if you don't ride a scooter. You're on 2 wheels and 3 on some. Trikes & Can-Am Spyders have been there.
But the main thing is if you ride and want to enjoy a fun time in a peaceful setting with other like minded good folks who are there for the same thing. Come check us out in September.

There will be at least 1 meal included with the fee. depending on how many folks come, there might be another one. The food cost is what takes the most. so I try to keep a resonable fee.

Oh 1 more thing You don't have to stay in the host hotel that's just where we all gather before going on a ride. There are some wonderful campgrounds around if you choose that. It's just not everyone can stay at a campsite. We have to also look out for our older generation who come to the rally. Sit and talk with some of these guys. Everyone has a story.

STO 2016 will be September 14-17 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. This is a riders' rally with opportunities to ride the twisties in the Ozark Mountains of northwest Arkansas each day of the rally. All scooters are welcome, modern and classic, mopeds to maxi scooters. Registration is now open, with Early Bird (reduced fees) registration lasting thru January 8.

Sorry I haven't been posting here as regularly as usual. I've had other things going on this year not related to riding. I still hope to be able to attend STO in September.

Here's a message recently posted by our rally coordinator, Lance. (Notice that registration fees go up August 1.)

It's now officially less than 2 month's away, the STO 2015 8th Annual Scooter Rally in Eureka Springs, Ar. If you are attending the rally this year please send in your registration soon because as of August 1st the fee goes up. I hope everyone is keeping cool through this summer heat. For me this has been a fast moving year. There are lots of riding plans being made. I plan to have some riding brochures in your packets. Along with some other items. I probably won't be doing the little parade this year, so that we all can just get straight to the riding. Just please bare with everyone that's involved in making this happen. We are stiving to have another enjoyable time while we are all on vacation during the rally. The food plans are being made and will be posted just a little later as we get that all lined out. So until then everybody stay safe, stay cool, and please be careful.

Eureka Springs and all through the Ozarks is such a fun place to ride that scooter riders come from far away to ride the twisties. The list of people registered for STO 2014 has grown to include riders from 15 different states and Canada. It's now less than a month away. Come join the fun!

If you plan to attend STO this year, please register as early as you can, so that our rally coordinator has some idea of what attendance will be. Lance posted the following on the STO Facebook page.

Hi Folks......Well STO 2014 is now less than 4 months away. Please invite your friends if at all possible. I'm wanting to do some new things this year but I need attendance to pull it off. Rally registration fees are prorated. To take advantage of "Early Bird" rates, mail your registration by April 1, 2014. We're looking forward to another great rally this year. Last year's vendors said they would return, and Lance is trying to get more for this year. He's working on other things, too, but doesn't make announcements until things are locked in. Ride coordinator Kyle has posted some preliminary ride maps you may want to check out, too.

With winter weather hitting the nation, now is a good time to get those new calendars out and mark down your scooter riding plans! Looking forward to a great riding season is a good way to warm up.

The Sixth Annual Scooting the Ozarks Rally was lots of fun! Great weather with NO rain in Eureka Springs during the rally (though some were caught in an isolated shower near Peels Ferry on Thursday). 78 people registered this year, and a few additional people just came by to visit friends or check out the variety of scooters in attendance. In the week since the rally, several have posted photos and videos of the rally on the forum link.

If you missed this rally, watch for information on STO 2014 and join us in Eureka Springs, AR next year! All scooters are welcome, and we have had all sizes of scoots, and a few motorcycles.

Are you planning to attend the 2013 Scooting the Ozarks Rally, September 11-14, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas? More information on the STO Forum.

Just a few reminders before time runs out! You have only a week left to pre-register for the rally for $50. After August 31 you will have to wait and register at the rally for $60.

There is a home Razorback football game on the 14th, so we recommend that you make hotel reservations if you plan to stay over the weekend.

Rally shirts will not be available at the rally, you must order them yourself from CafePress. It usually takes about a week to get your order.

Our ride coordinator has maps and turn-by-turn instructions for the long ride and the poker run on the forum. There are also maps for self-guided rides. He does not plan to provide printed maps for the optional rides, so please check out the rides on the forum and print out your maps.

Looking forward to good weather (AccuWeather.com is forecasting sunshine all that week!), and lots of great riding at the rally. See you then!
