2008 T something Chinese 150 cc GY6. I have installed a new stator, regulator and battery. The headlight and taillight work off of the stator and only work with engine running. The brake light and turn signals work off of the battery.
The headlight and taillight work fine when the motor is first started, but after about five seconds they start getting dimmer. This continues for about 30 seconds until the headlights get so dim you can't see them. If you shut off motor and restart it, the process repeats itself. When the lights go dim, if you apply brake (engine running) the headlight will work until you release brake.
I was thinking maybe a grounding issue but haven't found that yet. I did find one ground wire that was hooked frame to frame and I removed one end and conncted to motor.
Any thoughts/comments you have are appreciated - Rick

That was great advice by both of you. Standing on the pulley and using an electric impact wrench, eliminated the need to hold cluth assembly with a strap wrench. I was able to push down hard on impact wrench and control release of spring. I removed the 4 pins inside of slotted openings and cleaned all old dried grease. Apply new grease and re/assemble. I was able to compress spring by pushing clutch assembly down by hand and starting large nut. Then stand on pulley and tighten with impact.
Clutch makes no noise and is smoother on acceration.

My clutch makes a chirpping sound when I take off from a dead stop. I read a Linhai service manuel and have sanded the clutch shoes with coarse sandpaper, but still makes noise. The same manuel shows how to take the clutch apart, but so far I have not been able to hold it well enough to get large nut loose. Its on a scooter that only has 400 miles on it. Thanks in advance for your thoughts/comments
