Thanks for the Welcome Wagon! I've noticed some topics on valve adjustments, I'll have to study them at length before attempting. I think fuel flow is good, but I'll check as well. In the meantime I've cleaned all the important electrical contacts and sealed them with dielectric grease, we'll see how it goes.

Greetings all! Still consider myself new to the wonderful world of scooters. Love the forum!
Okay, my topic: I know I can't completely weatherproof a scooter. But it has been raining and damp quite a bit here in Atlanta, GA and my girlfriend's 50cc Jonway has been very difficult to start, even using the kick start. This only began happening recently, and once it gets going it won't stall. From what I've read, scooters & motorcycles are much more sensitive to the weather than cars, understandably so.
The spark plug, wire, coil, fuel filter, belt and CDI are all new. Before I spend more money on a battery, stator & voltage regulator I was wondering if anyone had tried some sort of silicone spray over the electrical components to help seal out moisture?

Just got my gf a 50cc Jonway Solana. Never owned a scooter before, been through lots of cars though. Within an hour of getting it home I already had it apart & back together. (It's used, has a couple of problems.) Looking forward to having fun with it!
