Thanks for the clarification. I'll go buy a set of feeler gauges, I'll look though the manuals I have for the gab stetting. I might be coming back for that info.... nothing is easy to find.
Cheers - Thanks again - TJ

Thank you for the extra detail!
What I have done since I last posted was I pulled the bottom winding and soldered the connections again cleanly and pulled the points and condense and currently buying a set of online.
When I reinstall the point I'll try to set the timing gap properly. Is there an easy way of doing this or is it all trial and error?
Thank you again for the information.

[/img] JR
Thanks I have the manual already and this is a Kick start without a battery. The scooter is completely disassembled and no wiring is coming from the kill switch. Thanks for the help!

Here is my pic album for my restore so far - I purposefully bought the vespa in 200 different parts from ebay to learn everything about the vespa. imgur.com/a/gqKUK#0My Model and Vin number is - V5B3T - 312767 I did some more testing today using a 6v battery. This is what I did step by Step. (and I got a spark) 1. Connected a wire from the 6v positive side to the non moveable part of the points. 2. Wire up the coil the way it normally would be and connected a spark plug. 3. put a piece of paper between the points 4. Wried up the negative side of the battery and took that wire and touched the movable part of the points. SPARK! on my spark plug. What I think I learned from this: My Coil is good and my condenser might the the cause of no charge getting to the points. And my next question is why am i not getting a charge to my points? Am I correct in this thinking?
