Well what's on your agenda today on the pretty and nice New Year's Day Jan. 01 2012? Lot's of good luck traditions world wide and of course a lot of them here in our country too. Some of old that came over on the first boat load of immigrants and some have developed as time has gone by. Of course the New Years Day good luck meal has to be cooked on this day and some people know the one I swear by and with no exception will I change today. I've already got the black eyed peas in the crock pot soaking with a nice chunk of smoked pork, will be putting on a pot of tender collard greens I picked at daylight this morning to simmer all day and of course I'll top it off with big slices of fresh hog jowl I bought at the meat market yesterday along with a big pan of corn bread. Heck this meal is good any day! So what do other people think about the New Years Day good luck meal? From what I read it just depends on where you're from? But I did see that there are a few things on the list that are kind of what I would say standard things to eat for good luck. .epicurious.com/articlesguides/holidays/newyearsday/luckyfoods" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">.epicurious.com/articlesguides/holidays/newyearsday/luckyfoodsLooks like my main three are on the list! So lets all have a good new year and for sure today eat a good luck meal, in this mean old world we need all the good luck we can get sometimes! P.S. CC you done told me that they sell hog jowl where you moved to so get the old frying pan out! ;D JR
