I remember that and as we all know there are varables that decide what's best for each ones scooter, altitude gas etc. I can still get non-ethanol gas and I live in a higher altitude so my scooter may act different than the same scooter somewhere else. But lowering the needle like Richard is a example. I may even try that myself just for kicks.
At this point my scooter runs better with an additional washer but I would like to see how it would act the other way. I also use a notch hotter spark plug so I feel thay may have some effect.

The reason I said that is MY NEEDLE has 5 slots and on mine it is held down by a bracket inside the cylinder with one screw holding the bracket down against the clip. Maybe the 3 slots are because the type that is on yours the needle is held on with the White Plastic holder and there is no room for further adjustment. Alleyoop

JR my needle jet also has just 3 slots, just like yours, you know I moved it one notch. What should my a/f mixture be adjusted to, leaner or richer?

I would run it see how it performs check the plug and go from there, you may not have to even touch it at all.

Thanks JR, I was just wondering about the a/f mix, thinking if they had the needle jet set to the richest, I wonder if they adjust the a/f the same, it is running alot better for sure, still slows down when clambing long hills, but I'm going to put sliders in that you suggested. (soon:)

i think this may be the curse for my mc54 250b.. she runs fine at low speeds and stays cool.. but when i open her up she starts to run hot and starts slowing down like she is straving for fuel... i will put this washer in a i think the extra fuel will curse my problem and start the running hot problem also

The running hot at higher speeds sounds more like air in the system. Have you changed the Chinese coolant, replaced it with a good 50/50 premix and burped the system? The slightest air bubble will cause this problem.

Alleyoop It has a spring under the cap that allows for adjustment. JR If your talking about the LONG SPRING that is so the cylinder rises in a nice steady way otherwise it would just move up really fast with the air pressure. It also is so that it pushs the cylinder back down quickly when you shut the throttle as well as a steady gradually moveing down as you ease off the throttle. If you mess with that spring it will mess up how the cylinder moves up and comes down. That long spring is not for adjusting the needle. it is to control the entire movement of the diaphgram system. Alleyoop Nope! I'm talking about a little spring that is under the cap that holds the needle itself. You use a 7mm nut driver and push the cap down slightly and turn and it unlocks to allow the needle to come out. The spring gives you some adjustment room for the needle to come up or down and it also helps keep the cap locked in with constant upward pressure. Not talking about the diaphragm spring. JR
