What is it about these motors that requires we use premium 93 octane gas? It seems to me that they should run better on regular 87 octane gas without all the spark retardants.

I have never put a drop of 93 octane in my scooters and have never had any issues over it. Got to remember our rating system is different than the Chinese system.

Yep, that's all I've ever used. I do think it makes a difference that I can still get non-ethanol gas but I'm sure it won't last forever.

i run 93 octane in mine with a couple of ounces of marvel mystery oil in each tank..
