I recently had a PM request from a new member about how to install an emergency flasher switch on scooters that do not have one. The 250B is such a scooter and this is the scooter with the linhai like mine. It's sister the Cf Moto version comes with the switch already. I apologize that I didn't get this sooner but as always I've had a lot of irons in the fire so to speak. First of all I cropped out a small section of a colored wiring diagram of a typical scooter set up with the turn signal switch and flashing unit on it and I drew in the location of the new emergency flasher switch and where to run the new wires. Now while wire colors vary on scooters most scooters do usually use ORANGE on the left blinker and LIGHT BLUE on the right blinker. In lots of cases the feed wire from the flashing unit to the turn signal switch is GRAY but on this drawing it's PURPLE.
As you can see one needs to tie the new switch in to the three mentioned wires:
LEFT BLINKER WIRE RIGHT BLINKER WIRE FEED WIRE FROM FLASHING UNIT TO TURN SIGNAL SWITCH
Now my friend Alley and I used a nice little switch one can get off of Ebay that is easy to use, has the needed 3 terminals just snaps in after drilling a hole, waterprrof and is marked with the emergency flasher emblem.
When we got ours it was the switch only and we had to make our own plug in to it which was no big deal but since then I have found the switch with the plug also! It's aslo cheap!cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Auto-Car-Scooter-Moped-Emergency-Light-Switch-Unit-50-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZalgoQ3dLVIQ26ituQ3dUCIQ26otnQ3d4Q26poQ3dLVIQ26psQ3d63Q26clkidQ3d2914197339549526547QQ_trksidZp5197Q2em7QQitemZ150640262270Now this switch ST type switch which means if by a single action throw connects one feed to the other two outlets meaning it connects the feed wire from the flasher to the left and right blinker wires and when pushed makes all four turn signal lights flash.
If you just wanted to put a simple type toggle switch for this system say under your seat out of view one would need to get a swtich like this either by ordering it or a lot of times you can get these kinds of toggle switches at Radio Shack.
Also this application will work on any scooter 50cc to 250cc that I've found. I have installed them on all sizes.
I am going to put all this together for a How To and put it in the tech section.

Yes, it is a piece of cake to install. Here is a verbal explanation of how to hook your beeper up: When making turns I always put my turn signals on. The problem was that I would make the turn and forget to turn off the Turn Signal. Sometimes I would go for a block before noticeing that the Turn Signal was still on. So I bought a Universal Turn Signal Beeper from here: .rvtoys.net/motormate_002.htm" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">.rvtoys.net/motormate_002.htmThe Beeper has three wires Two Red wires connect to your left and right turn signals and one is Ground. The Red wires already have Diodes in the wires. How to connect: On your Left Handlebar there are about 8 wires inside a rubber tubing for protection. The Orange wire is for your left Turn Signal and a Light Blue is for your Right Turn Signal. Connect one of the red wires from the Beeper to the Orange wire coming from the Left Handlebar and connect the other red wire from the Beeper to the Light Blue Wire coming from the Left Handlebar, Then connect the Black Ground Wire from the Beeper to any good ground and your done. Decide where you want the Beeper because you may need to add wire to the wires from the Beeper to extend the reach. I put mine right in the Center of my Handlbar Cover and the wireing for the Left Handlebar are right there so I did not have to add any more wires to the Beeper. Also If you find it to loud just take some tape and tape part of the top of the Beeper to muffle the Beeps. IF THE BEEPING GETS ON YOUR NERVES WAITING FOR THE GREEN LIGHT: Go to Radio Shack and get a Relay #275-248 to stop the BEEPING when the Brakes are applied. Soldered the Wires onto the Relay with the Proper conections, Find the Brake Live Wire when you pull the Brakes. It is a Light Green Wire on mine There are only Two wires coming from the Brake side and one is Light Green and the other is Dark Brown or Black. So use a PROBE to find the live wire when you squeeze the brake. Here is How to connect the RELAY AND BEEPER: Alleyoop
