I have a Yiying yy250t from 2008. I just bought it and have been driving it for 2 weeks. Initially there was an issue with the idling when it was cold, and it died frequently at the red lights and crossings. It got worse and I had to rev with the throttle to keep the engine going with both breaks on, to prevent it from driving due to high revs. Everytime I had to stop, the engine died. It starts immediately in idling when it is cold and as soon as I give throttle, the engine dies. After reading many of the posts here, I think that I have to check 1) the Air intake for cracks, 2) the Air filter for clenlyness and leaks, then 3) check the carborator for leaks, then 4) adjust the fuel mix and 5) the idling. Maybe I should also do a 6) valve adjustment. I am not an engine person and need good advices and guides, any suggestions from YouTube or other sources?

Yes I would check and adjust them if needed and I would also remove the carburetor and clean it well,,sounds like the idle jet is dirty or has a bit of debris in it keeping it from flowing fuel,,,and I'd put a fuel filter in line so if the tank has a bit of junk in it that'll keep it out of the carb

Thank you for the advice to check the fuel flow! There are soo many small hoses and connections to the carburator which makes me doubt that I will manage to mount it back once I have dismantled and cleansed it. I have now dismantled all the covers to be able to reach the carburator, phuh, many screws and hidden hatches... I made a YouTube clip for people to see the issue at hands, maybe this helps to pinpoint the issue.
Have a look and let me know what you think.

Take a few photographs of the hose positions and get some tape and number all hoses and positions,,,I'd bet good money your carb jets are dirty or you have an air leak in the intake tract somewhere,,,rubber intake manifold may have cracks,,introducing air into the mix
