Hi all!
I have a Roketa Bali 250cc scooter when i go to start the scooter it turns over strong and sounds like it whats to start but wont... Once i spray starter fluid into the carb it starts right up. Why is this?? Ive cleaned the carb twice and it still does this.
**Note my airbox is broken (airbox connects to my carb) i drove it with the broken airbox for about 20 miles could this be the problem??** Could i have put the tubes on wrong when putting the carb back on?? Also i haven't adjusted the valves since i got it. ( 700 miles ago)
Second problem is when it is running it now sounds like there is a whole in my muffler?? super loud almost like a weed wacker/ 2 stroke engine. I looked on the outside of the muffler and there is no damage to the eye. Could it be something internal?
I have no idea where to begin with it....
Thanks for the help
IAN

welcome arizonascoot--it does sound like the air box is open or something--if the scoot has only 700 miles on it ,new, the valves should be ok,but who knows, anything can happen--also ,check the exhaust manifold gasket bolts for leaks--hang in there ,JR and cyborg will eventually find you or tvanacman--somebody will help--in the meantime, post some more info on your scoot, age, total miles, did you give it a proper setup when you got it--all info can be helpful--also ,put a photo on if you can--let us know about your climate, area ,and how much you get to ride--happy trails, fflintstone

I have put about 700 miles on it myself. I bought it with only 400 miles on it so now around 1200.
I live in Arizona this scoot use to be my main source of transpiration i rode it around tucson for almost a year. I now have a car and just want to restore the scooter to ride around for fun. it has some cosmetic damage from sitting out for around 2 years and falling over from a flat tire or two and it sinking into the dirt in the backyard during a monsoon, Slowly but Shirley i would like to be able to have her functioning properly. There is a shop around town that will fix it but if i can manage to get it going myself i would love the project.
Thanks for the response

If it fires up with starting fluid ,,you probably need to adjust the carb,,,and the valves also need adjusting,,,,
