I recently got my scooter back after it was being worked on by a former co-worker. now it only starts when i use the kickstart and even then as soon as i move the throttle at all to give it gas it just dies instantly no bang or any rattling just dies. I have already checked the valves and they are at the correct setting for what i was able to find.

When you say will only start with the kick starter you mean it won't turn over electrically right?

Can you give us a little history?,,,,did it run good then sit a long time,,,,like over the winter? If it did then I would agree with Jr ,,,carb is probably varnished up from deposits left by the gas that evaporated

i had hit something when i was riding it home from work one night so he was fixing the frame he had said was bent. I have recently tried to clean the carb but that didn't fix the problem all the way. I have also checked the valves and set them to the manufacturers settings from what i could see in the owners manual
