Hello everyone, impaired here, you can call me imp for short.
Well 3 years ago I was the proud owner of a 2009 andretti benelli 150xt.
Bought her for $700 with 2500 miles, private sale with title.
I took very good care of this bike, changed oil every 500 miles, never beat on it excessively, bought a Kevlar cvt belt for her and she ran like a champ.
My tires got half after I put 2500 miles on her (total 5200 miles) so I parked it until I had money and a means to replace them.
Then one day I get home and she's gone!
Called my neighborhood to see if they towed it for sitting for too long or something but no.
Called police and filed a report, had it registered so I gave them all that info plus the vin and description.
Cops basically say 9/10 these things never come back, and they left. That made me feel great. (sarcasm)
So fast forward 3 years, last Saturday I get a knock on the door, the cops found my scooter...in GA ( I live in sc)
So Monday morning I went with a truck to pick her up, had no title (lost it) but had recipts for when I had the title transfered and registered ECT from the dmv.
I had to pay $400!!!! Because it sat in impound for 3 MONTHS and they couldn't find the vin to contact me.
So that's my fault i guess?
What ever, i got to see it before i fork up the money and she looks great! Minus a few scratches and a broken turn signal...and another 2300 miles on it
BUT IT HAD BRAND NEW TIRES!!!!
So i got it home and immediately start working on it.
The ghetto ignition was ripped off a wiring so it didn't work(popped it with a flat head to try to start it) the bike has no kick start assembly on it so that's no go.
Get an ignition, wire it up, drained gas, fixed a gas leak, drained oil (it was soooo bad, color of mud :'c)
Put new oil in it, cleaned air filter and the inside of box with rags and a soft bristle brush and some blowing power.
Bought a new battery (one that was in it had bad cells, wouldn't hold a charge)
Put fresh 93 in her and gave it some gas to try to get it going in the lines, and carb.
Turned key and she started to try to start! Omg so happy.
Let it chill a sec, giving a little throttle, making sure not to flood the carb.
Tried it again, it fires up, but quickly stalls.
Let it chill again 5 mins, this time I start it with a little throttle going at the same time!
After a little throttling I got the gas flowing through her!!!!
Inflated tired to 30psi and took her down the road, she easily hit 50, almost as good as when I got her!!!!
I got alot of work I am working on with her now and I'm hoping some of you guys can help me here soon!!!
Glad to join your community, ill add some photos of the bike soon, gotta go get groceries'!
