My MP250A has a defective enricher. It is stuck in the extended position. When I installed a new identical enricher, I could not find a place to connect the green and the yellow wires. On the original defective enricher, those two wires were connected together.
I heard somewhere that this is from a previous Yamaha design which required those two additional wires but the JCL does not need them to be connected.
So should I connect the green and yellow wires back together and plug the red plastic connector into the white plastic connector?
After I changed the enricher, the scooter is even harder to start and stalls at stop signs unless I maintain a tiny bit of throttle. Does this sound like the Chinese tuned the carb so it would run with the defective enricher and now, with the new enricher, the mixture is too lean?
Thanks in advance. Ernie

If you look the White plug has the same color wires. Just plug white connector into the Red Connector from the ENRICHER. And yes, it could be since the PLUNGER was extended they may have richened it up to compensate for the Enricher not working. So connect the Enricher Correctly and adjust your Crab using the Fuel Ratio Screw. Alleyoop

Welcome to the forum ernie! How many miles on the scooter? Gonna agree with Alley on plugging it up and then adjusting the A/F screw. More than likely you'll find the sweet spot at about 2-1/2 turns from bottom out on the screw.
Stalling at stop signs a sign of needed valve adjustment. Keep us informed we're here to help.

Thank you for the welcome. I'm an old motorcycle reject. Rode for 30 years but hips are bad and I can't mount the darned things anymore. Only 158 miles on the scooter so far. I have done nothing but mess with this scooter for the last three weeks. In desperation, I took it to a local Chinese motor scooter dealer and told him it runs like chit, yadda yadda yadda. I hope to get it back somtime later this week. I told him to set the mix, stop the fuel leak and adjust the valves. We'll see how that goes. My next project is installing a neat little motorcycle radio and speakers. They are in matching black and should fit nicely on the dashboard piece which goes around the steering if I can figger how to remove it. Thanks again and I hope to learn a lot here. Ernie

Welcome to U-Scoot, Ernie. I hope your local dealer has a good mechanic and treats you fairly. Once you are through with the dealer, then you can graduate to U-Scoot and we will be more than happy to further your scoot education.

Well I do not think you can find anyone more knowledgeable than JR on the 250s. He has 2 of them one for him and one for his wife. I believe one is an A and the other is a B. Also he is a Electrical GURU on the Scoots as well as the cooling on them. Alleyoop
