I have checked the cdi unit, the sparkplug and wire wire and also all the connections from the cdi and the kill switch and they all seem ok. I did another check on the spark and its not really that i am getting now spark as i can feel a current when holding the plug but it seems more that I am getting low spark. Not sure what to check next.

If you can hang on to the coils hi tension wire as you crank it over ( is that what you just said?) and you feel the current you have a bad coil,,,if it's pulsing like its getting a signal and you don't get the livin sh!t shocked out of you the coil is bad

I replaced the CDI unit along with the sparkplug wire and the spark plug but when I hold the spark plug against the frame and crank the pedal i can actually feel a current running thru the plug itself but cannot see any spark...I dont get shocked much at all but there is a current. I am guessing that it has to be something else further up the line...maybe something nearer the flywheel and magneto?

OK going back to the wiring diagram I see where I missed quoting the wires from the stator to the CDI/coil so now here's what we have.
Red = power feed from stator to the CDI/Coil and it goes from the stator to the key switch then back to the CDI/coil.
Black/Brown = ground
White = trigger pulse coil wire.
So we now need to know two things. We need to know if the red wire is producing any voltage and what it is. You've got to test this wire with a meter set on AC volts. Unplug the red wire hook it up to your meter and then turn the engine over and get a reading. I'm guessing 80Vac or more is needed.
If you have good voltage here then hook the red wire back up and turn the key on and test it where it plugs into the CDI/coil.
If the stator is putting out good voltage and you don't get that voltage to the CDI/coil then you've got either a
Bad connection Bad wire Bad key switch
Let us know what you find out.
